    Officer: Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) WC and EC

    Job description

    • SHE Managment Systems Maintenance - Ensure compliance to the Occupational Health and Safety Act, NEMA and other relevant SHE requirements. Implement SHE change and communication programmes for the sites such as toolbox and campaigns.  Implement corporate SHE programmes across the organization. Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the ATNS’ environmental management system (ISO 14001:2015) and OHS management system (ISO 45001:2018). Monitor and ensure that document and data control systems are maintained in accordance with SHE standards. Implement programmes aligned to the ATNS corporate strategy across the organization. Review management system documentation for the sites in accordance with the ATNS’ environmental management system (ISO 14001:2015) and OHS management system (ISO 45001:2028) for the sites. Conduct SHE awareness training to employees, contractors and visitors. Ensure compliance at regional stations with applicable environmental legislative requirements and best practices as guided by corporate environmental compliance obligations.
    • Safety, Health and Environmental Governance - Implement and monitor compliance with Safety, Health and Environmental policies and processes. Maintain on-site SHE file. Ensure that the training of health and safety representatives, first aiders, fire representatives, and evacuation representatives is up to date. Ensure on-site legal appointments are up to date. Coordinate on-site Health and Safety Committee meetings and ensure records are properly maintained. Conduct workplace inspections. Conduct on-site SHE induction. Ensure implementation of the ATNS SHE manual. Operationalise and monitor approved annual environmental plans in line with ATNS environmental and safety strategies.  Monitor and guide the implementation of safety, health and environmental requirements in current and new operational projects and initiatives.
    • Safety, Health and Environmental Assurance, Auditing and Training - Implement annual audit programme and coordinate for internal & external audits for sites, projects and contractors. Undertake environmental audits and inspection to determine compliance with authorizations and related. Environmental Management Programme (EMP) for projects. Conduct regular inspections to identify potential risks, opportunities and make recommendations to ensure regulatory compliance. Monitor adherence to compliance obligations, audit findings and recommend corrective and preventative actions and support sites in addressing findings. Submit weekly, monthly and quarterly performance reports. Collate and present operational SHE metrics such as waste, water, incident stats, energy etc. ensuring data confidence (accuracy and consistency). Assist in acquiring and maintaining environmental management system accreditation and occupational health and safety management system. Support the integration with other standards such as Quality management and Occupational health and safety management systems. Promote SHEQ awareness and communication through conducting training and education across business units and levels of the business and contractors as well as maintaining control and training registers for key internal stakeholders (SHE reps, Fire wardens, Evacuation reps. etc.). Contribute to the identification of SHE-related training needs for respective corporate competency training needs analysis.
    • SHE Incident Reporting and Investigation - Ensuring the effective management of injuries and occupational diseases through efficient diagnostic processes, disease reporting, recording and investigations, Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA Act) processes management. Provide SHE incident management awareness training to employees. Investigate OHS accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claims. Investigating and reporting environmental incidents for the sites and projects, including following up on recommendations timeously. Follow up on incident and accident investigation recommendation for sites. Conduct training and presentations for SHE incident and accident prevention.
    • Contractor management - Evaluate/assess contractor’s SHE files as per Construction regulations. Conduct SHE induction for contractors on site. Audit contractors on site. Ensure / enforce contractors’ SHE compliance.
    • Hazards Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) - Develop workplace baseline risk assessment. Reviewing the physical and activity-based risk assessments on a continuous basis.
    • Reporting and Engagement - Collaborate with local internal and external stakeholders in the implementation of safety, health and environmental programmes.   Ensure regional documents and records are created, updated and controlled in accordance with approved processes. Analyse occupational health, safety and environmental data to identify trends and make recommendations.  Report to the SHE unit on occupational health and safety and environmental performance on parameters namely Water, Waste, Energy, Carbon Emissions, noise management, and health and safety performance metrics. Contribute to the SHE input for corporate sustainability reports and programme reporting. Continuously update environmental templates, forms and reporting systems to enable efficiency in responding to environmental matters and to support decision making. Participate in working groups and cross functional teams where applicable. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports.   Ensure alignment and management of programmes to budget and time requirements. Identify areas for continuous improvement.

    Minimum requirements

    Minimum Qualifications 

    • Bachelor's degree or National diploma in Environmental sciences/management/health, equivalent qualification in Safety Management, Environmental Management or related field.
    • Valid RSA driver's licence Cod 08.

    Minimum Experience 

    • Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in occupational health and safety, environment management or aviation safety management.
    • Experience/knowledge in implementing Environmental Management System (ISO 14001:2015)/ Occupational Health and Safety (45001:2018) and or Safety Management System (SMS).
    • Understanding of the environmental issues, OHS issues and aviation safety-related issues.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Air Traffic Control qualification or engineering qualification.
    • SAMTRAC or NEBOSH certificate (advantageous).
    • ISO 14001:2105 and/or ISO 45001:2018 certificate and related auditing certification (advantageous).
    • Aviation Safety Management System Course (advantageous).

    Minimum Experience 

    • Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in air traffic management or engineering experience.
    • Experience/knowledge in implementing Environmental Management System implementation (ISO 14001:2015)/Occupational Health and Safety (45001:2018) and or Safety Management System (SMS).
    • Understanding of teh OHS, Aviation and Environmental compliance requirements. 

    Advantageous

    • SAMTRAC or NEBOSH certificate.
    • ISO 14001:2015 and/or ISO 45001:2018 certificate and related auditing certification.
    • Aviation Safety Management System Course.
    • SACPCMP registered.
    • SAIOSH registered.

    Administrator: Capacity Development 05/26

    Job description

    • Administrative Support.  Advise prospective students on ATNS courses and programmes as well as other services offered and follow up on enquires to secure registration.  Respond to enquiries about learning courses and send course information packs to prospective students via post and email.  Process student enrolments and monitor overall student progress for learning courses. Process all related information and file results sheets, send letters to students and update the database. Administer student completions which include recording the results on the database, checking payments, completing all relevant forms, issuing Certificates and/or badges to students and updating the ATNS management report.  Liaise with the primary service provider regarding training logistics and arrangements. Assist in the preparation of agendas, venues, documents, etc. for meetings.  Maintain and update manual and computerised records of students, spread sheets, reports, databases, course information and other relevant systems to ensure that all records are kept up to date.  Assist with the production and uploading of study and course materials in collaboration with staff members in the Learning Team to ensure a high level of consistency and quality is maintained. Provide any other duties as reasonably required by the Senior Specialist: Capacity Development.
    • Quality Management System.  Maintain all department QMS procedures, directives and instructions, ensuring the ongoing availability and currency thereof on the ATNS share-point system.  Ensure up to date notification of changes to filing indices.  Maintain the ISO filing system of the department and inform the Senior Specialist: Capacity Development of any changes.
    • Stakeholder Relations Management - Establish good working relationships with students. Establish and maintain good working relationships with various internal. departments, including Finance, Supply Chain Management, Aviation Training Academy, Air Traffic Services, IT, and others. Establish sound relations with external service providers

    Minimum requirements

    Formal Qualifications

    • National Diploma in HR / Admin or other related qualification
    • B-degree in HR Management or any of the HR disciplines will be an advantage

     Experience

    • At least 2 years administrative experience in human resources development and leadership development programs

    Manager Air Traffic Services: Wonderboom Airport (Designate)

    Major Activities

    • Align daily operations with Regional Operations goals and objectives, ensuring multidisciplinary coordination across the entire Air Traffic Services Unit
    • Provide operational leadership to the Air Traffic Service Unit to ensure achievement of Air Traffic Management Service Delivery, and overall ATNS business strategy.
    • Provide operational Air Traffic Service Unit input and insights into the operations and long-term ATNS strategy.
    • Support the Head and other thought leaders in the development, implementation and management of the Operations strategy aligned to the vision, culture, and business strategy of ATNS.
    • Lead the design, implementation and management of the Air Traffic Service Unit business plan, aviation safety strategy including governance and service management capabilities, along with the service catalogue and service level agreements.
    • Drive delivery of the required projects/initiatives within the Air Traffic Service Unit strategy to be on time, within budget and to the required standard.
    • Analyse trends and metrics in partnership with the Head to develop the required solutions, programs, and policies aligned to the business needs and strategies.
    • Support co-ordination and implementation of the corporate transformation strategy in the Air Traffic Service Centre/Unit in line with relevant policies and legislation.
    • Build and maintain strong business relationships with customers to understand their strategies and plans to ensure alignment of the Air Traffic Service Centre/Unit operations to their needs.
    • Ensure continuous collaboration for conducting of research and development to enable continuous enhancement of the Air Traffic Service Centre/Unit’s operating model, products and services aligned with trends, technological advances, and changes in business strategy.
    • Ensure the effective integration and implementation of all Air Traffic Service Centre/Unit ’s resources to meet the required service delivery capability aligned to customers’ requirements.
    • Actively contribute to building a high-performing and collaborative culture with customers being at the heart of the company’s offerings. 
    • Partner with the wider business to build and foster innovation in our culture of service excellence.
    • Manage and implement a robust governance framework for the Air Traffic Service Unit.

    • Current rating in aerodrome and approach control.
