    Screening & Vetting Superintendent

    Description

    • Review employment applications and supporting documentation.
    • Verify candidate identity, qualifications, certifications, and work history.
    • Conduct reference checks with previous employers and professional contacts.
    • Perform criminal record, credit, and other background checks as permitted by law.
    • Assess screening results and identify potential risks or discrepancies.
    • Maintain accurate and confidential candidate records.
    • Ensure compliance with labour laws, privacy regulations, and organizational policies.
    • Prepare screening reports and recommendations for hiring managers.
    • Liaise with recruitment teams, external screening providers, and regulatory bodies where necessary.
    • Support audits and maintain documentation related to vetting activities.

    Requirements

    • NQF 6 National Diploma / Advanced Certificate
    • Diploma or Degree in Security Management, Criminology, or a related field (advantageous).
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in security screening, vetting, or mining site security.
    • Knowledge of mining site access control procedures.
    • Familiarity with South African legislation (e.g., POPIA, Labour Relations Act).
    • Computer literacy with knowledge of the complete Microsoft package.
    • Sound planning, administration, interpersonal communication and client liaison skills are required.
    • Strong leadership and organisational skills as well as good interpersonal and communication skills
    • Successfully undergo polygraph examination before employment and on a regular basis
    • No criminal record (Police clearance form if available)
    • Must have great communication skills
    • Valid certificate of physical fitness
    • Valid driver’s license with own reliable transport is required.

    Internal Investigator

    Description

    • Receive, assess, and prioritise complaints, allegations, and reports of misconduct.
    • Plan and conduct investigations in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
    • Develop investigation strategies, timelines, and evidence-gathering plans.
    • Maintain objectivity, confidentiality, and procedural fairness throughout investigations.
    • Gather and review documents, emails, financial records, CCTV footage, access logs, and other relevant evidence.
    • Conduct interviews with complainants, witnesses, and subjects of investigations.
    • Analyse information to determine facts, identify policy breaches, and assess risks.
    • Preserve evidence and maintain chain-of-custody procedures where applicable.
    • Prepare clear, factual, and defensible investigation reports.
    • Document findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
    • Present investigation outcomes to management, HR, legal counsel, audit committees, or executive leadership.
    • Support disciplinary, legal, or corrective action processes.
    • Investigate suspected fraud, corruption, theft, conflicts of interest, and financial irregularities.
    • Support whistleblower and ethics hotline programs.
    • Identify control weaknesses and recommend preventive measures.
    • Assist with regulatory inquiries, audits, and compliance reviews.
    • Identify emerging misconduct trends and organisational risks.
    • Recommend improvements to policies, procedures, and internal controls.
    • Support awareness and training initiatives related to ethics and compliance.

    Requirements

    • NQF 6 National Diploma / Advanced Certificate
    • Experience in investigations, compliance, internal audit, law enforcement, forensic accounting, security, and employee/labour relations.

    Professional certifications may be advantageous, such as:

    • Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)
    • Institute of Internal Auditors, Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
    • Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (CAMS)
    • Investigation or compliance-related certifications.
    • PSIRA Grade A certification (Internal candidates)
    • Computer literacy with knowledge of the complete Microsoft package.

    Security Superintendent

    Description

    • Managing allocated areas to ensure that contractual requirements are met as stipulated by the employer.
    • Ensuring that all relevant security officers on site meet the required tactical requirements.
    • Planning, managing and executing high-risk security operations.
    • Constantly evaluating the service levels provided and making recommendations to improve where and when required.
    • General management and supervision of specialised security staff to ensure that required performance is met at all times.
    • Dealing with all required administration matters.
    • Liaising daily with management on various operational issues.
    • Ongoing liaison with the Security Manager, relevant third-party Security providers and relevant government security role-players. 
    • Ensuring that all HR-related queries are dealt with promptly, and formulate disciplinary actions.
    • Submitting relevant weekly/monthly incidents and general reports to Management.
    • Investigating incidents and reporting on such.
    • Pro-active planning on various sites and mining processes.
    • Responsible for operations on the mountain and underground.

    Requirements

    • NQF 4 (National Senior Certificate or Grade 12 or Adult Senior Certificate)
    • Degree/Diploma in policing, security, military studies or business management will be advantageous.
    • Specialised training in a policing, security or military environment will be advantageous.
    • PSIRA Grade A registered (if not then must be in place within 1 month of employment).
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in security/law enforcement/military environments.
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in planning, managing and executing security/law enforcement/military operations.
    • Experience in mining and mining operations from a security perspective will be advantageous. 
    • Experience in providing high-risk security/law enforcement training will be advantageous.
    • Experience in intelligence management will be advantageous.
    • Working knowledge of the Firearms Act and must have firearm competency and business purposes (can be completed after being appointed if currently employed in government security structures).
    • Staff management experience
    • Computer literacy with knowledge of the complete Microsoft package.
    • Sound planning, administration, interpersonal communication and client liaison skills are required.
    • Strong leadership and organisational skills as well as good interpersonal and communication skills
    • Successfully undergo polygraph examination before employment and on a regular basis
    • No criminal record (Police clearance form if available)
    • Must have great communication skills
    • Valid certificate of physical fitness
    • Valid driver’s license with own reliable transport is required.
    • Must be between 30 and 50 years old.
