    Bosch Projects – Project Secretary (Eastern Cape)

    Bosch Projects, a member of the multi-disciplinary Bosch Holdings group of companies, founded in 1961, has a job opportunity for a Project Secretary. This position will be based in Gqeberha Eastern Cape and reports directly to the Regional Director.

    KEY  RESPONSIBILITES :

    • Project document management & filing: typing, proof reading, document control / quality compliance, RFQ process with sub-consultants, BOQ edits / formatting, information system capturing, indexing, organizing, editing documents, drawing / documenting transmittals & records, filing and storage of project documents and project lists, UBW reports for ITIS (SANRAL software) & Managers as needed.
    • New Projects: Loading new projects, budget & closing. Updating dates & connections as and when needed.
    • Project finance coordination: timesheet control, travel arrangements, company vehicle log sheets, project costing / forecasting, invoicing and payments certificates review & submission, statements / cover letters, debtor schedules, liaison with Accounts department and debtor follow up with clients.
    • Office administration: general office administration duties including preparation of paperwork / drafting letters & distribution, presentations, data capturing and data verification, formatting and editing of documents, telephone messages, coordination of training, loading of training courses.
    • Quality management system (QMS) and audits: divisional quality audits, non-conformities, summary page (monthly,) PQP files for managers, occupational health & safety audits.
    • Tendering: search for national tenders on websites as per instruction from Regional Director / Divisional Manager, maintain CV’s in long / short and world bank formats, stock key supporting documentation for tenders such as Tax Clearance Certificates, obtain certified documentation and signed resolutions, client panel listings, compile and submit national and international tenders, maintain master documents (all tenders to look the same,) contract document printing and SANRAL tenders (main tenders & B-Forms)
    • Database management: Maintain databases of academic and professional information and certificates, including Shareholders ID documents, client reference letters received for tenders, letters of appointment, tender methodologies, ECSA registration passwords & certificates, SACPCMP (passwords,) update Branch / Team Organogram, maintain / update the project experience schedule.
    • Marketing / public relations: assist with marketing aspects, including compilation and maintenance of project data sheets, client satisfaction process / records.

    THE IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD:

    • A Matric certificate with math as an advantage.
    • A minimum of five years relevant work experience with engineering industry exposure (advantageous.)
    • Good computer skills / Microsoft office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint,) advanced Excel
    • Good knowledge in the compilation of tender documents, bid submissions including the identification of bid document requirements and collation of deliverables etc.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Good knowledge of report writing.
    • Good attention to detail.
    • Good time management skills.

    Bosch Projects – Divisional Manager Developments (KZN)

    Bosch Projects, a level 1 BBBEE certified company and a member of the multi-disciplinary Bosch Holdings group of companies, founded in 1961, has an opportunity for a Divisional Manager: Developments (DBN).

    The Developments Division undertakes projects that include establishment of new CBD’s, major industrial parks, mixed use developments, upmarket gated residential estates, and affordable and subsidized housing developments. The Division is also responsible for undertaking widely varied general civils projects, stand-alone industrial civils projects, and provides support to all other Divisions within Bosch Projects.

    This position will be based in the Mount Edgecombe Office and reports directly to the Regional Director.

    KEY  RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Developing, in consultation with the Bosch Projects Regional Director, and Sector Head, an overall marketing and growth plan for the DBN division in line with the overall Bosch Projects budgets and strategic growth targets;
    • Managing the bidding, negotiation, and marketing processes in accordance with the Quality Management System to secure the annual regional divisional turnover budget on a sustainable basis;
    • Co-ordinating and optimizing divisional resource utilization to ensure that divisional profit targets are met;
    • Promoting synergy between Bosch Holdings operating companies;
    • Coordinate with other Bosch Projects Divisions (e.g. electrical, structural, water and wastewater) for their respective inputs into development projects;
    • Ensuring that all the Divisions’ projects are undertaken in accordance with the Bosch Projects Quality Management System;
    • Ensuring that all applicable Divisional engineering and technical standards are met;
    • Managing and coordinating all financial aspects of Divisional projects, including invoicing, forecasting and debtor control;
    • Promoting growth and advancement of Divisional staff by mentoring and application of the structured performance appraisal system;
    • Assisting the KZN Regional Director and Sector Head in planning resource requirements, and in recruiting suitable candidates.

    The ideal candidate should: 

    • Have a BSc Civil Engineering / BEng Civil Engineering degree, or a BTech in Civil Engineering;
    • Be registered as a Professional Engineer / Technologist with ECSA;
    • Have a minimum of 15 years appropriate post qualification experience;
    • Have strong leadership and management skills, and at least 5 years’ experience in managing project teams;
    • Have minimum of 10 years’ experience of independently implementing projects from start to finish;
    • Be competent in managing all commercial and financial aspects of projects, including terms of appointment, fees and invoicing/forecasting, WIP, project profitability, and debtor control;
    • Have technical competence in municipal infrastructure designs (roads, stormwater, etc.), industrial civils site works design, and general civils design;
    • Have strong contract knowledge for administering municipal, industrial, and general civils projects;
    • Have a good understanding of development processes (residential, industrial and commercial) including experience of interaction with architects, town planners, environmentalists, and other professional participants in development teams;
    • Be experienced in the compilation and submission of tenders and proposals for procuring consulting engineering work;
    • Be skilled in networking with potential clients / business partners in both the private and public sectors to secure work outside conventional tender processes;
    • Have a passion for excellence and be driven to lead the KZN Development Division as a significant contributor to achieving Bosch Projects growth targets;

    Bosch Projects – Infrastructure Manager (KZN)

    Bosch Projects, a member of the multi-disciplinary Bosch Holdings group of companies, founded in 1961, has an opportunity for an Infrastructure Manager. This position will be based in the Durban office and will report directly to the Regional Director – Durban.

    The Infrastructure Divisions of the Durban office undertakes projects in the roads, developments, water and waste-water sectors that include widely varied general civils projects, stand-alone industrial civils projects, and provides support to all other Divisions within Bosch Projects.

    This position will be based in the Mount Edgecombe Office and reports directly to the Regional Director, with the Divisional Managers of Roads and Developments, Water and Wastewater reporting to the Infrastructure Manager.

    KEY  RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Managing all the Bosch Projects Durban Infrastructure Divisions to ensure that the execution of regional strategy and project deliverables are achieved;
    • Developing, in consultation with the Bosch Projects Regional Director, Infrastructure Divisional Managers and Sector Heads, an overall marketing and growth plan for the DBN infrastructure divisions in line with the overall Bosch Projects budgets and strategic growth targets;
    • Managing the bidding, negotiation, and marketing processes in accordance with the Quality Management System to secure the annual regional infrastructure divisional turnover budgets on a sustainable basis;
    • In conjunction with the Divisional Managers, coordinating and optimizing all the infrastructure divisional resources’ utilization to ensure that all project profit targets are met;
    • Assisting in the coordinate with other Bosch Projects Divisions (e.g. electrical, structural, Sugar) for their respective inputs into projects;
    • Ensuring that all the Infrastructure Divisions’ projects are undertaken in accordance with the Bosch Projects Quality Management System;
    • Managing and coordinating all financial aspects of all the Infrastructure Divisional projects, including invoicing, forecasting and debtor control;
    • Assisting and coordinating with the divisional managers on human resources management including recruitment, skills development, employee relations, etc.;
    • Promoting synergy between Bosch Holdings operating companies;

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Have a BSc Civil Engineering / BEng Civil Engineering degree, or a BTech in Civil Engineering;
    • Be registered as a Professional Engineer / Technologist with ECSA;
    • Have strong leadership and management skills, and at least 5 years’ experience in managing project teams;
    • Possess an understanding of municipal and private infrastructure projects, including water, wastewater, roads, buildings, structural, electrical, instrumentation and mechanical works and or;
    • Be skilled in networking with potential clients / business partners in both the private and public sectors to secure work outside conventional tender processes;
    • Have a  minimum  of  15  years  Engineering  /  Project  /  Management  /  Business
