    Cost Accountant

    About the job

    • Our client within the distribution space in South Africa and further African regions is currently seeking a highly analytical Cost Accountant to join their growing team. We are seeking someone with strong exposure to cost analysis, reporting, inventory costing , budgeting and forecasting. This role will be on-site, based in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town.

    Responsibilities:

    • Cost Analysis & Reporting - Prepare and analyze cost reports, identifying trends and areas for cost reduction.
    • Conduct variance analysis to compare actual costs against budgets and forecasts and provide recommendations on cost-saving initiatives.
    • Inventory & Production Costing - monitor and evaluate inventory costs, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
    • Implement standard costing ensuring accurate product costing and support stock valuation and control.
    • Budgeting & Forecasting - assist in the preparation of cost budgets and forecasts. Monitoring cost performance against budgeted targets.
    • Financial Control - Ensure adherence to cost accounting standards and internal controls. supporting internal and external audits by providing cost-related data.
    • Maintain compliance with relevant financial regulations and policies.
    • Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and cost reduction.
    • Collaborate with production, procurement, and finance teams to streamline cost management processes.

    Requirements: 

    • Relevant bachelors degree - CIMA advantageous
    • 5+ years relevant experience within a cost accounting related role
    • Experience within a similar industry advantageous
    • Analytical skills with proficiency in MS Office and MS Excel

    Senior Finance Manager

    • Exciting opportunity for a CA(SA) with 3-5 years experience looking for a hands on and dynamic senior finance role within a start up type of environment! We are seeking a highly skilled individual to lead all financial operations within the business. 

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and oversee financial strategy, cash flow, and forecasting.
    • Work across multiple departments including finance, logistics, inventory management, and supply chain.
    • Track stock levels and ensure efficient capital allocation.
    • Handle budgeting, financial planning, and strategic growth initiatives.
    • Implement and oversee financial tools (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks).
    • Manage tax compliance, reporting, and auditing.
    • Optimize cost structures and revenue models for sustainable scaling.
    • Report directly to the CEO and contribute to the long-term strategic direction of the company.

    Requirements: 

    • CA(SA) with 3-5 years post articles experience in finance, accounting, and ideally logistics.
    • Background in startup, supply chain, or production-heavy industries is a plus.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
    • Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
    • Experience working with stock tracking and financial forecasting tools.
    • Highly motivated, dynamic, and able to work cross-functionally.

    Senior Project Accountant

    • Seeking a strong Accountant that has Project Accounting experience. This individual is needed to manage their ERP system, financial reports and admin of the various business units. If you are looking to grow in your career, please apply. 

    Responsibilities: 

    • Process and reconcile supplier invoices, bank statements, petty cash, reimbursements, credit cards, fuel cards, stock, intercompany loan accounts 
    • Manage and run payroll system
    • Prepare and submit company VAT & EMP201 returns
    • Bi-annual EMP501 recon and submission
    • BBBEE and EE reporting requirements
    • Prepare management accounts
    • Prepare company cash flow and P&L accounts
    • Prepare year end trail balance and provision of all relative information for year-end sent to external accountants
    • Structure, process and archive data based on agreed procedures
    • Provide alerts to management on deviations from allocated budgets
    • Relay information and internal advise for the group regarding financial aspects
    • Liaise with accountants and bank
    • Verify internal accounts
    • Verify payroll and employee reimbursements

    Requirements: 

    • Tertiary Accounting qualification
    • Minimum of 3–5 years experience as a Accountant
    • Experience with Sage payroll
    • Project Accounting experience
