    Minimum Requirements:

    • Grade 12

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Deliver, collect, load, offload documents, goods and equipment to and from various internal and external departments.

    Project Engineer: Structural Engineer: WASA50024

    Minimum Requirements:

    • BSc/ BEng/ BTech in Structural or Civil Engineering with a structural specialization
    • Eligible for registration with ECSA
    • Valid driver’s license
    • 3 years of relevant structural design and project management experience, ideally in water or municipal infrastructure
    • Proficient in structural design software (e.g., Prokon, Revit, AutoCAD, SAP2000, or ETABS).
    • Sound knowledge of reinforced concrete, steel, and masonry structures.

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Lead the structural design and project management of municipal water and sanitation infrastructure projects within the City, including reservoirs, pump station buildings, elevated tanks, clarifiers, treatment plant structures, and civil support systems.
    • Review and approve design amendments for water and sewer submitted by internal and externally service providers
    • Ensure that all structures are safe, durable, code-compliant, and aligned with service delivery and sustainability objectives
    • Develop, reinforced concrete and steel structure designs for reservoirs, pump stations, and treatment plants
    • Design, analyse, and managing structural systems including reservoirs, tanks, clarifiers, pump station buildings, sludge drying beds, and supporting infrastructure.
    • Ensure compliance with applicable codes (e.g., SANS, Eurocode), safety regulations (OHS Act), environmental standards and relevant legislation.
    • Conduct site inspections, verify material compliance, and issue approvals
    • Ensure the project financial administration delivery processes comply with internal control and governance standards and report on any deviations
    • Assess existing structures for defects, rehabilitation, or replacement planning
    • Ensure compliant to all relevant legislation, by-laws, regulations, policies and procedures

    Engineer: WASA50013

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Degree in Civil Engineering/ Relevant NQF 7 Qualification
    • Eligible for registration with ECSA
    • Valid driver's license
    • 3 years’ experience in similar environment
    • Valid driver’s license and ability to conduct site visits.

    Project Engineer: Mechanical Engineer: WASA50023

    Minimum Requirements:

    • BSc, BEng, or BTech in Mechanical Engineering/ Relevant NQF 7 Qualification
    • Eligible for registration with ECSA
    • 3 years’ experience in mechanical design and infrastructure project management in the municipal or water sector
    • Proficient in AutoCAD, Plant 3D, SolidWorks, or similar software
    • Knowledge of pump systems, mechanical process equipment, and hydraulic fundamentals

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Lead the mechanical design and project management of water and sanitation infrastructure for the City, including pump stations, pipelines, reservoirs, water and wastewater treatment facilities, and associated mechanical systems.
    • Design and manage mechanical systems for water and sanitation infrastructure, including pumps, pipelines, valves, compressors, blowers, and motor control systems.
    • Provide technical support for maintenance planning, refurbishments, and upgrades of existing infrastructure.
    • Supervise consultants and contractors during installation, commissioning, and performance testing.
    • Conduct quality control, site inspections, and prepare compliance documentation for infrastructure projects
    • Ensure compliant to all relevant legislation, by-laws, regulations, policies and procedures
    • Inspect mechanical works to verify compliance with design and quality standards to guarantee quality and operational readiness of mechanical systems
    • Facilitate handover of mechanical infrastructure to operations and ensuring mechanical systems are documented, registered, and transferred to the operations unit

    Minimum Requirements:

    • BSc/ B Eng/ B Tech in Civil Engineering / Relevant NQF 7 Qualification

    • 3 years' experience in civil engineering design and infrastructure project management, preferable in municipal or public sector
    • Proficiency in design software such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Civil Designer, EPANET, or equivalent.

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Lead the planning, design, and project management of civil engineering infrastructure for municipal water and sanitation services within the City, including pipelines, reservoirs, pump stations, roads, and drainage systems
    • Review and approve design amendments for water and sewer as submitted by internal and externally by service providers
    • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, designs, specifications, bills of quantities (BOQs), cost estimates, and tender documentation.
    • Perform hydraulic and network modelling using tools such as EPANET, Civil Designer, Water GEMS, or Civil 3D.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations including SANS, DWS Guidelines, OHS Act, and municipal bylaws.
    • Coordinate and integrate civil engineering designs with structural, mechanical, and electrical teams
    • Support procurement processes including bid specification drafting, tender evaluations, and contract award recommendations.
    • Supervise contractors and consultants during design, implementation, site inspections, and commissioning.
    • Conducting geotechnical reviews, infrastructure condition assessments, and develop rehabilitation or maintenance plans.
    • Preparing project progress reports, design reviews, funding applications, and compliance submissions (e.g., MIG, WSIG, RBIG).
    • Aligning civil infrastructure designs with IDP, WSDP, and SDBIP municipal planning instruments.
