We are looking for a talented Africa Middle East Trade Compliance Manager to join our team specializing in Logistics for our C orporate/Cummins Business Services Segment in Johannesburg, Waterfall Commercial Park South Africa.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Support the expansion and growth of Cummins’ business in Africa/Middle East region.

• Act as an internal consultant on customs matters for all Cummins entities in the region.

• Evaluate customs compliance at all Cummins sites in the region and work with sites to improve processes and mitigate risks.

• Identify and lead process improvement and cost reduction projects.

• Ensure that all sites maximize the benefit from available export incentive programs, special economic zones and other cost mitigation programs.

• Act as a liaison point with third parties such as governmental Customs agencies and customs agents.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Experience in a similar role working for a foreign owned MNC or Professional advisory firm with import/export operational processes and related customs procedures.

• Good comprehension of transfer pricing regulations and protocols pertaining to customs valuations and year-end adjustments

• Knowledge of tax deferment mechanisms e.g. free trade zone or bonded warehouse establishment, management and compliance

• Experience with customs/trade related software suites e.g. SAP GTS, Amber Road, Deloitte DESMAT or similar systems would be an advantage
