KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perceived Quality requirements standardisation & continuous improvement
• Creation of customer driven product requirement specifications with marketing
• Test & validate customer driven quality requirements
• Tracking R&D FMEAs to completion from DFMEA to PFMEA
• Problem solving in the design phase and early resolution
• Creation and managing of quality contracts with product suppliers
• Creating and continuously improving component specifications with R&D
• Life Testing of components and products
• Design Validation
• Thorough field trials when required
• ISO 9001:2015 maintenance and continuous improvement
• Step and element sheets for line QCs and training
• Scrap and six sigma projects
• Supplier Audits
• Reporting of warranty and quality metrics
• Action plan tracking with R&D, factory staff, suppliers & marketing
• Liaising with customers on trade visits and service calls

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• BSc in Engineering Degree
• 3 years’ manufacturing experience required
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience with quality management
• Experience with problem solving

Job Description

• We are currently on a search for a Senior Quality Engineer who will be required to develop environmental, sustainability and energy projects. Support with the planning, installation and commissioning of new equipment and support employees awareness in sustainability and energy saving topics. 

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop short, medium- and long-term energy project portfolios and implement these projects throughout the year to achieve targeted reductions
• Analyze and manage the monthly utility bills, Jacobs and Ezakheni (annual target of 4% reduction)
• Monthly update of budget files and sharing of data to required stake holders
• Monthly update of energy project files and share with required stake holders
• Update ZBB when required on ZBB online platform (energy side) (Cooking, Refrigeration and Laundry)
• Work on ZBB items, projects, updates and new ideas
• Analyze energy consumption across all factories, to identify and resolve problems, opportunities, and improvements  
• Manage Maintenance and improvements of compressors, dryers, services equipment
• Manage Maintenance on generators and Solar Installations
• Manage and specify all services required for new machinery and factory changes, including of Air, Electricity, Gas and Water.
• Manage agreements with utility suppliers and ensure service availability.
• Develop Annual budgets for all commodities
• Reduce water consumption across all plants.
• Implementation and maintenance of the ISO 50001 standard
• Implement monitoring and manage current monitoring systems of services

Minimal requirements

• 1-2 years’ experience within Manufacturing Industry
• BTech/BSC Electrical Engineering
• Own transport and willingness to travel (responsibility/projects at two manufacturing facilities – Ladysmith included) 
• Project management proficiency
