Key Purpose

• To design, develop, and maintain robust automation test scripts for web, mobile, and API applications using Java. The role ensures quality assurance is embedded throughout the software development lifecycle, contributing to continuous testing, CI/CD integration, and Agile delivery practices.

Areas of responsibility may include but are not limited to

• Develop and execute automated tests for web, mobile, and API applications.
• Design and implement scalable automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver, Appium, and Rest Assured.
• Identifying test conditions and creating test designs, test cases, test procedure specifications, test data and Implement tests in the test environment.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or Bamboo.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Assist with manual testing whenever the need arises.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test strategies and acceptance criteria.
• Identify, document, and manage defects using JIRA and ensure traceability.
• Stay current with emerging trends such as AI-assisted testing and self-healing automation.

Skills and Knowledge

• Proficiency in Java for automation scripting.
• Expertise in Selenium WebDriver for web automation.
• Hands-on experience with Appium for mobile automation.
• Strong skills in API testing using Rest Assured.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.

• Understanding of software testing methodologies and SDLC within Agile environments.

Education and Experience

Education:

• Matric (Essential)
• Test Automation certificate (Advantageous)
• ISTQB Foundation level certification or equivalent in software testing
• Degree (Advantageous)

Minimum Experience:              

• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in automation testing with focus on   JAVA, Selenium, Appium and Rest Assured
• Experience working in Agile teams and integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines is essential.
• 1 Year Test Analysis in short-term insurance environment (Advantageous)

Key purpose

• The vacancy is for an Instructional Design role within the Discovery Institute of Training. The role requires the Instructional Designer to develop training solutions and material for Discovery Bank employees, according to high quality standards. The role will also involve constant evaluation of the training cycle and regular updating of material.

Key outputs

All work must be done accurately, comprehensively and in-line with set quality standards.

• Effectively follow the 6Ds methodology to develop all learning solutions.
• Consult with stakeholders across all relevant business areas to identify and address L&D needs.
• Gather information in relation to key needs and requirements of the area.
• Develop comprehensive curriculum to cater for the needs of specific areas.
• Design and develop training material and assessments for in-person and virtual training workshops and induction programmes, in line with the curriculum to ensure that learning outcomes are matched.
• Develop storyboards (only) for digital training material, which could include online courses, videos, podcasts, infographics and animations.
• Note: The Instructional Designer will not be responsible for any development of digital material as this function is fulfilled by the Multimedia design team.
• Consult with business areas to agree on reasonable and achievable deadlines.
• Train and provide guidance to the facilitators to ensure that learning outcomes are achieved through effective presentation of material.
• Support and provide guidance and feedback to junior instructional designers within the team.
• Maintain material and ensuring best practice guidelines are followed across the areas.
