    Commercial Specialist (Gauteng)

    PURPOSE

    • An exciting opportunity exists to prepare cost estimates and analyse tender requirements for competitive bidding to meet and exceed current and future strategic financial objectives. The role will drive a culture of strong commercial thinking, alignment as well as contract/commercial negotiations with various parties. The role is responsible of managing the contract escalation within the business and any financial guarantees and retention.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Business Management

    • Execute project responsibilities for their function in line with organisational strategy, to achieve set goals
    • Executing commercial function to support sustainability of the broader business, as per operational and financial project requirements.
    • Identify and escalate commercial issues that may arise from conflicts between internal and external stakeholder requirements.
    • Participate in setting and implementation of the commercial functional strategy as well as providing guidance on regional and project commercial issues within the Division.
    • Ensure appropriate commercial support function positioning and delivery
    • Provide commercial and contract management support and inputs to the tender process
    • Contribute to overall Divisional revenue growth by optimal contractual execution

    Financial, Commercial and Contracts Management

    • Participate on the procurement of subcontractors and materials, prepare and continuously review estimates and allowable for all products
    • Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents
    • Compute costs by analysing labour, material, and time requirements.
    • Present prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
    • Lead pricing of change impacts as required at all projects.
    • Resolve contractual and commercial disputes.
    • Review Professional indemnity and other related insurances.
    • Manage scope changes and contract variations.
    • Maintain Proposal registers and document control.

    Risk Management and Compliance including Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Responsibility

    • Take full responsibility for general conditions of contract, special conditions, specifications, and drawings; be aware of relevant legislation relating to the contract
    • Drive best-practice commercial management processes, policy and procedure in line with the business requirements

    Stakeholder Management (Internal / External)

    • Communicate with trade partners and team members regarding new and current projects.
    • Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
    • Balance commercial functional requirements, with internal and external stakeholder requirements, to support business development, growth and profitability while maintaining exceptional customer relationships and functional service delivery.

    Operations and Project Management

    • Ensure the flow of project information is maintained and documented.
    • Review general conditions, schedule, scopes of work, hoisting plans, site logistics and other exhibits as prepared by sites
    • Ensure timely completion of estimates
    • Prepare cost analysis
    • Manage and coordinate the contracts review process

    Management Operating System and Reporting

    • Put appropriate controls in place at point of execution
    • Ensure all relevant commercial data is collected accurately and on time, at point of execution, and provided to relevant stakeholders in required format

    SHEQ Management

    • Ensure appropriate zero harm principles are costed for on all proposals.

    Culture and Climate

    • Build a culture of commercial continuous improvement

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • A minimum of a relevant Engineering/Quantity Surveyor degree or equivalent
    • Law/Commercial qualification will be and added advantage

    EXPERIENCE

    • Five to ten years’ experience in the tailings, mining, engineering, commercial environment
    • More than five years in estimation of engineering works

    Instrument Technicians X 2 (Mpumalanga)

    Description
    PURPOSE

    • The role is responsible to install, test, repair, inspect and maintain metering and recording instruments, controlling devices, data logging and display equipment, communications, and telemetry systems, and to perform related work as required.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Safety, Health and Environment

    Installations and Maintenance

    • Installs, maintains, repairs, overhauls, calibrates, and tests a wide variety of industrial instrumentation that record, indicate, control and regulate level, flow, pressure, temperature, position and water analysis.
    • Troubleshoots telemetry and process controller hardware, maintains a functional knowledge of the operation of the telemetry system software and hardware.
    • Makes periodic preventative maintenance inspections of all metering control instruments, diagnosing existing or potential trouble; cleans, lubricates, calibrates, and adjusts as conditions indicate.
    • Lays out, install and place into service new metering, controlling, and recording devices, calibrating required; may extend or connect related electrical circuits.

    Operations

    • Troubleshoots SCADA, and PLC software and hardware, makes recommendations and performs software changes, maintains documentation of changes to the software and hardware.
    • Performs the repairs and testing work requiring higher-level knowledge, skills, and abilities and serves as a technical resource to others.
    • Manage Compliance to FAMP & Client SHEQ
    • Execute the MHSA/OHSA requirements
    • Fulfill all 2.6.1 appointment requirements.
    • Ensure compliance to FAMP & Client Internal SHEQ Systems
    • Understand and Perform Financial Administration
    • Understand financial Costing.
    • Preparing submitting & securing contract rate increases Managing stock control.
    • Attend all Requirements
    • Quarterly meetings Quarterly Audits Monthly inspections

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Grade 12/N3
    • Trade test - MQA/MERSETA preferred.

    EXPERIENCE

    • 3-4 years’ experience working on industrial instrumentation and control Experience in Diagnosing and making changes to PLC and SCADA software and hardware systems.
