• Mine Overseer with a minimum of 5 years active production experience in all relevant mining underground activities
• At least 2 years’ experience as Logistics Mine Overseer
• Comprehensive knowledge of all underground workings
• Trackless mining experience is essential and required
• Valid Blasting Certificate for Metalliferous Mines
• Mine Overseer Certificate of Competence for Metalliferous Mines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Products with emphasis on Excel
• Proficient in English and any of 11 official languages
• Interpersonal communication and outstanding technical skills
• South African Citizenship
• Clear Criminal Record

 Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe and timely movement/transportation of people, material, explosives, and equipment to and from collection and delivery points on the shaft.
• Ensure adherence to the scheduled delivery of material, explosives, and equipment
• Ensure material, explosives, and equipment are delivered to the correct areas
• Effectively control material delivery and issuing.
• Ensure compliance of material and equipment with legal requirements and company standards.
• Support the achievement of all scheduled maintenance plans.
• Liaise with Maintenance Planner to obtain schedule for equipment maintenance
• Ensure that identified deficiencies are scheduled and executed.
• Coordinate equipment and material utilisation.
• Monitor production variances against daily targets.
• Monitor usage of equipment and material to ensure minimum wastage.
• Effectively manage production systems and processes to achieve operational targets and prevent equipment breakdowns.
• Oversee the process of moving waste and reef from underground to surface.
• Ensure completion of necessary documentation as per ISO and procedural standards.
• Ensure proper record-keeping of all documentation related to waste movement for audit purposes.
• Eliminate risks of incidents and accidents.
• Conduct accident and incident investigations.
• Reporting and feedback daily
• Conduct all work according to required standards and specifications

Qualifying Criteria :

• Grade 11 or equivalent qualification
• N2 in Engineering studies in Electrical will be advantageous
• 1-2 years’ experience in Electrical Engineering in a mining or industrialized environment is essential and required
• Proficient in English and any of the 11 official languages
• Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces
• Applicant must possess good verbal communication skills
• Studying towards an Electrical Engineering Trade will be an added advantage
• South African Citizenship
• Clear Criminal Record

Responsibilities:

•  Work a cycle or rotation of shifts
• Assist Artisan(s) in carrying out their duties efficiently by providing support and carrying a toolbox, hand tools, and other equipment
• Maintain tools and equipment, and safely keep hand tools
• Able to disassemble and reassemble electrical apparatus/components and equipment using hand tools
• Thread conduit ends, connect coupling, and fabricate and secure conduit support brackets using hand tools
• Examine electrical units for loose connections and broken insulation, and tighten connections using hand tools
• Manage and maintain in area of responsibility by mine standards, procedures, and practices
