    Personal Assistant to the Municipal Manager

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Grade 12 plus Secretariat Certificate (M+1) and a minimum of Three (3) years relevant experience OR National Diploma in Office Management.
    • Computer Literate
    • Valid Driving License will be an added advantage

    KEY PERFOMANCE AREAS: INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING

    • Typing and Secretarial duties
    • Managing the diary of the Municipal Manager
    • Scheduling of meetings and minute taking
    • Logistical arrangements for meeting
    • Liaison person between the office of the Municipal Manager and relevant stakeholders
    • Traveling and subsistence related administration
    • Documents Management
    • Drafting reports and memos

    Heavy Duty Plant Operator

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Grade 7/ Standard 5/ ABЕТ
    • Valid Driving License - Code 14 with PDP
    • Valid Operator Certificates (Preferably have any two between Grader, TLB, Dozer)
    • At least two (2) years relevant experience

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

    • Operate Heavy Duty Plant Machinery in various applications including skimming, cutting through, mix, redistribution, spread and re-compacting of road crust, and /or adding new road fill material to obtain desired road shape and profile to assist in maintenance of road infrastructure
    • Operates heavy duty machinery safely, as per stipulated procedures and adheres to all
    • required safety rules and regulations - thereby ensuring compliance and safety operation
    • Responsible for safe handling and basic maintenance of the machinery

    Accountant Asset Management

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Grade 12/ Standard 10 Matric Certificate
    • National diploma or Bachelor's degree in accounting / economics/Cost and Management
    • Accounting or with accounting as a major
    • Certificate in Municipal Finance Management Program (Added advantage)
    • Three (3) years of related experience in Municipal Asset Management
    • Valid Driving License (Added advantage)
    • Sound Computer skills and high level of reporting skills
    • Good Communication skills (written and verbal)
    • Must have knowledge of financial controls within the Asset Management Section.
    • Knowledge of EMS financial management system will be an added advantage.

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

    • Record new fixed assets, additions, retirements, and transfers in the accounting system
    • Calculate and record depreciation for fixed assets and amortization for leases/intangibles
    • Reconcile the fixed asset sub-ledger with the general ledger and perform balance sheet reconciliations
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual fixed asset reports, analysis, and audit schedules
    • Assist with internal and external audit
    • Manage asset life cycles, from acquisition to retirement
    • Update the municipal asset register
    • Coordinate physical verification and bar coding of all municipal assets
    • Update the municipal insurance register
    • Ensure all actions, interpretations and policies and procedure are within the latest legislative requirements and prescripts, also adapting to the findings and interpretations of the auditor general.
    • Ensure assets are accounted for in the correct financial manner as per accounting specifications.
    • Ensure the safeguarding of all municipal assets and account for the use and location of such assets.
    • Oversee the process of tracking, monitoring and managing all non-fixed asset items to ensure they are accounted for.
    • Ensuring accurate financial information is supplied timeously for inclusion in the annua financial statements to paint a true picture of the financial position of the organisation.
    • Assist the Manager: Assets in executing his fiduciary duties with regard to total project planning by, ensuring the type, reason, source, method, timing and funding source is known for all future projects before they are approved.
    • Ensure that the necessary information regarding asset related aspects be conveyed to all relevant parties in a clear and uniform manner whilst the recording of methods used, and decisions made is crucial in creating continuity over time
    • Ensure that information, advice and opinions relevant to the functionality is communicated through the various mediums and accurately interpreted through the provision of adequate and clear explanation and facts.
