    Eastern Cape Sales Manager

    Job Advert Summary    

    • The Eastern Cape Sales Manager is responsible for driving merchant acquisition, growth, and retention for FeverTree Finance and MediWallet within a designated region.
    • The primary objective of the role is to identify, recruit, onboard, and support new merchant partners while ensuring existing merchants remain active, engaged, and successful in processing customer transactions. The role requires a strong focus on relationship management, business development, sales performance, merchant training, and operational support.
    • A key component of this role is ensuring that merchant staff receive ongoing product training and support to maximize utilization of the FeverTree Finance and MediWallet products, thereby increasing transaction volumes and improving customer adoption.
    • The Regional Sales Manager will utilize internal reporting systems and merchant performance dashboards to monitor sales activity, merchant engagement, transaction trends, and growth opportunities within their portfolio.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Relevant Diploma or Degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Finance, or related field.
    • Minimum 5 years' experience in business development, sales, account management, or relationship management.
    • Proven track record in acquiring and managing merchant or business partnerships.
    • Experience within financial services, payments, BNPL, credit, healthcare finance, fintech, or retail finance sectors will be advantageous.
    • Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
    • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel extensively.

    Duties and Responsibilities    
    Business Development & Merchant Acquisition

    • Identify, prospect, and secure new merchant partnerships for FeverTree Finance and MediWallet.
    • Develop and execute regional sales plans to achieve merchant acquisition targets.
    • Conduct presentations, demonstrations, and negotiations with prospective merchants.
    • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of potential partners.
    • Manage the onboarding process from initial engagement through to activation.
    • Ensure all merchant agreements and compliance documentation are completed accurately.
    • Identify strategic partnership opportunities within target industries and sectors.
    • Attend networking events, exhibitions, conferences, and industry functions to generate leads.

    Merchant Relationship Management

    • Manage and develop relationships with an assigned portfolio of merchants.
    • Conduct regular merchant visits and business reviews.
    • Ensure merchants remain engaged and actively promote FeverTree Finance and MediWallet products.
    • Identify opportunities to increase transaction volumes within existing merchant relationships.
    • Act as the primary escalation point for merchant concerns and service-related issues.
    • Foster long-term partnerships that drive sustainable growth.

    Training & Merchant Enablement

    • Deliver initial onboarding training to merchant owners, managers, and staff.
    • Conduct ongoing refresher training to ensure staff remain proficient in product processes and systems.
    • Ensure merchant teams understand application processes, customer eligibility criteria, and transaction procedures.
    • Develop action plans for underperforming merchants.
    • Provide guidance on best practices to maximize customer uptake and transaction conversion.
    • Ensure marketing collateral and point-of-sale materials are displayed and utilized effectively.

    Sales Performance & Portfolio Growth

    • Monitor merchant transaction volumes and identify opportunities for growth.
    • Analyse sales performance reports and implement initiatives to improve merchant productivity.
    • Track activation rates, transaction trends, and portfolio growth metrics.
    • Drive increased utilization of both the FeverTree Finance and MediWallet product offerings.
    • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and transaction targets.
    • Develop and execute regional growth strategies aligned to company objectives.

    Operational & Compliance Management

    • Ensure merchant compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
    • Monitor merchant adherence to onboarding and transaction processing standards.
    • Ensure all sales activities are conducted in accordance with the National Credit Act and other applicable legislation.
    • Maintain accurate records of merchant engagements, visits, and sales activities within CRM systems.
    • Submit timely and accurate reporting to management.

    Customer & Merchant Experience

    • Promote a culture of exceptional service and support.
    • Work collaboratively with operational and customer service teams to resolve merchant concerns.
    • Ensure merchants receive prompt assistance and guidance when required.
    • Drive continuous improvement in merchant satisfaction and engagement.

    Marketing & Business Development Support

    • Assist in the implementation of regional marketing campaigns.
    • Support merchant promotional activities and product launches.
    • Identify opportunities for co-branded campaigns and strategic partnerships.
    • Monitor competitor activity and market trends.
    • Provide feedback to management on market opportunities and challenges.

    Technology & Product Adoption

    • Maintain a thorough understanding of FeverTree Finance and MediWallet systems and products.
    • Assist merchants with platform adoption and utilization.
    • Support implementation of new products, enhancements, and technology solutions.
    • Stay informed of industry developments and emerging payment and financing trends.
