Main Focus Areas

Main Focus Areas
- The role will provide the intern with the opportunity to develop an understanding, practical skills, and competencies required in all aspects of medical equipment planning, maintenance, and repairs.
Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)
Medical equipment asset management and maintenance:
- Assist to upkeep and maintenance of all assets as well as ongoing asset verification (upkeep of asset register) including usage of the CMMS system.
- Accurate data capture of all assets as well as ongoing asset verification (upkeep of asset register)including usage of the CMMS systems.
- Assist suppliers/technicians to identify and locate equipment when services are being performed.
- Attend to callouts within the hospital and liaise with the HCT Manager on potential solutions before implementation.
Administration and management:
- Involvement within the creation and management of the OPEX and CAPEX budgets. Ensure accurate record keeping and management of stock.
Training:
- Monitor competency compliance by arranging and attending training and with vendors for hospital nursing staff and equipment end users.
Maintain high professional standards:
- Ensure professional growth and development through professional affiliations, attending confeerences and available resources.
- To stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in clinical engineering.
Post Requirements: (include but are not limited to)
- Grade 12
- A tertiary qualification in electrical engineering (light current)/clinical engineering.
- Member of the Clinical Engineering Association of South Africa (CEASA).
- Computer proficiency.
- Driver license and the ability to travel if / when required.
- Willing to work flexible hours.
