    AKPH RN PICU

    Main Focus Areas

    • The Registered Nurse will render and promote cost effective, safe quality patient care in accordance with hospital standards and policies and will further be responsible for direct and/or indirect nursing care of a patient or a group of patients, for assessing, planning, executing and supervising the implementation of care to meet patient needs.

    Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)

    • Practice patient care according to the Scope of Practice and assume total responsibility for these activities
    • Communicate effectively with doctors regarding requirements
    • Contribute to the holistic care of patients
    • Attend handover of report at shift commencement

    AKPH Pharmacist CD

    Main Focus Areas

    • The Pharmacist will be responsible for the provision of medication and supplementary services to patients and members of the healthcare team. The incumbent will also assume responsibility for meeting patients’ needs in a responsible, satisfactory and cost-effective manner. The Pharmacist will oversee and assist the Pharmacist Assistants with all pharmacy related tasks

    Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)

    • Ensure compliance with Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP) and relevant South African legislation (e.g., Medicines and Related Substances Act, Pharmacy Act).
    • Ensure maximum safety of patients by providing advice on the appropriate selection, dosage and drug interaction, potential side effects and therapeutic effects of medicines.
    • Supervise and control the acquisition, storage, dispensing and monitoring of medication and medical devices.
    • Act as custodian for Schedule 5 & 6 drugs, ensuring their management and control as per Pharmacy policies and procedures.
    • Record prescriptions as per legislative requirements.
    • Provide drug information and clinical support to physicians, nurses, and allied healthcare providers.
    • Participate in antimicrobial stewardship, therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM), and formulary management.
    • Shift working and on-call rostering.

    Post Requirements: (include but are not limited to)

    • A relevant pharmaceutical qualification (B.Pharm Degree minimum).
    • Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council.
    • Work experience in a Hospital or Retail Pharmacy environment will be advantageous.
    • Computer Literate.
    • SAP Experience preferable.

    AKPH Nursing Services Manager

    Main Focus Areas

    • The Nursing Manager will be responsible for the strategic, operational and clinical nursing management of the hospital. This includes the co-ordination of all functions and activities related to the provision, promotion and assurance of clinical patient care, through the leadership of a multidisciplinary team in consultation with all relevant stakeholders.

    Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)

    • A relevant nursing qualification ( B Cur Degree/ or relevant management qualification)
    • Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse

    AKPH Case Manger

    Main Focus Areas

    • The Case Manager utilising clinical knowledge, experience and patient acuity scoring tools, mitigates financial risk through comprehensive and accurate coding of hospital events. Communication with funders on justification for hospitalisation level of care and length of stay in hospital.

    Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)

    • Conducting ward rounds on identified patients to obtain clinical information from the patient files.
    • Liaising with Nursing staff, Doctors and Fund Case Managers.
    • Responsible for substantiating patient hospitalisation in terms of treatment, length of stay and level of care.
    • Monitor and action risk related to medical aid benefits and hospitalisation.
    • Ensure accurate, specific and comprehensive clinical coding.
    • Timeous, effective communication and follow up with medical aids.
    • Review authorisation aspects approved and escalate when necessary
    • Audit LOS/LOC and release the case for billing.
    • Effective communication to medical schemes and adhering to the standards contained in the NHN Managed Health Care rules of engagement.
    • Compliance with all industry relevant legislative acts, regulations and circulars.

    Post Requirements: (include but are not limited to)

    • Nursing or Case Management qualification/experience
    • Case Management experience: Hospital/Funder
    • Clinical nursing/ Managed Healthcare experience
    • ICD-10 / CPT Coding Qualification or experience
    • SAP IS-H experience advantageous
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products

    • Post Basic qualification in Midwifery and Management essential

    Personal Assistant & Reception Coordinator

    Main Focus Areas

    • Serves in a dual-capacity role, managing reception and front-desk operations while providing comprehensive administrative support to head office managers and staff. Acts as the first point of contact for visitors and callers, ensuring a professional and welcoming experience. Responsible for answering, screening and directing telephone calls, as well as handling general enquiries.     Inherent Requirements:

    • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.
    • Proven experience as a Personal Assistant and Receptionist. Preferably 3-5 years previous experience in a secretarial position.
    • Post graduate relevant qualification is an advantage.
    • Advanced computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite).
    • Experience in a corporate and fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.\
