Duties:

• Prepare monthly management accounts and support month-end and year-end close.
• Develop budgets, forecasts, and perform variance analysis to support business performance.
• Maintain and review Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure costing accuracy.
• Perform standard costing, analyse cost variances, and recommend cost-saving initiatives.
• Monitor inventory, production costs, and product profitability to support informed decision-making. .
• Ensure compliance through internal controls, audits, and adherence to company policies.
• Partner with the Finance Manager to support the day-to-day finance function and drive operational efficiencies.

Education and experience:

• BCom Accounting or Finance
• CIMA qualification or studying towards CIMA will be advantageous
• 3-5 years' accounting experience within a manufacturing environment is compulsory
• Costing experience is essential

• A well-established and fast-paced manufacturing business is looking for a driven and detail-oriented Accountant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accounting professional who enjoys working in a hands-on environment and taking ownership of the full accounting function while partnering closely with operations and management. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, tax compliance, reconciliations, payroll oversight, and financial analysis while managing deadlines in a high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
• Compile annual financial statements and supporting working papers
• Manage VAT, PAYE, Income Tax, and provisional tax submissions
• Handle SARS queries, audits, and compliance matters
• Oversee payroll processes and statutory compliance
• Manage supplier and debtor portfolios, including ageing reports

Education and experience:

• BCom Accounting
• 2–3 years experience in a similar role
• Experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment is advantageous
