    F&B Service – Barman / Pool Attendant

    Job Advert Summary

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Matric or equivalent.
    • Hospitality/F&B experience (bartender, waiter, or guest service) preferred.
    • Lifeguard certification advantageous.
    • Computer literacy (POS system, Opera PMS).
    • Strong knowledge of wines, spirits, cocktails, and bar operations.
    • Professional grooming and interpersonal skills.

    Duties and Responsibilities    
    Key Scope and Responsibilities

    • Ensure pool, deck, loungers, umbrellas, and bar station are consistently immaculate and guest ready.
    • Monitor ambience (cleanliness, music, lighting, décor) to reflect heritage identity, and management requests/ instructions
    • Provide pool towels and attend to guest requests promptly.
    • Enforce pool rules and ensure guest safety – no glass permitted.
    • Report maintenance or safety issues immediately.
    • End-of-shift cleaning routines: waste disposal, deep-cleaning pool bar, and resetting loungers/umbrellas.

    Beverage Service & Bar Operations

    • Prepare and serve cocktails, wines, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages to the highest standard.
    • Operate bar equipment safely and efficiently, reporting issues promptly.
    • Uphold hygiene and safety protocols in line with hospitality regulations.
    • Provide attentive, personalized service, anticipating guest needs and offering recommendations.
    • Table clearing, resetting, and polishing of glassware/cutlery to maintain service standards.

    Stock Management & Reporting

    • Lead daily stock takes and beverage counts, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
    • Monitor usage and proactively inform management when replenishment is required.
    • Maintain organized storage areas, applying FIFO (first-in, first-out) principles.
    • Assist in supplier coordination, ensuring timely deliveries and quality checks.
    • Operate POS systems for accurate billing and posting.
    • Complete pre-lists and financial checklists before and after shifts, ensuring reconciliation with Opera PMS.
    • Zero tolerance for stock discrepancies; variances must be reported and explained in writing.

    Teamwork & Cross-Departmental Support

    • Collaborate with F&B attendants, waiters, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service.
    • Provide on-the-job training to junior staff in beverage preparation, service etiquette, and equipment handling.
    • Mentor team members to uphold heritage hospitality values and guest journey standards.
    • Support cross-training initiatives to ensure staff versatility across poolside and bar operations.
    • Attend scheduled training sessions (hospitality standards, financial procedures, safety, and beverage knowledge).
    • Complete mandatory training modules and certifications as directed by management.

    Shift Structure

    • Early Shift: 06:30 – 16:00
    • Pool setup, breakfast support, daytime leisure service.
    • Late Shift: 13:00 – 22:00
    • Lunch/dinner service, pool bar operations, evening guest support.
    • Night Shift (as required): 22:00 – 07:00
    • Pool area security checks, overnight guest requests, early coffee/refreshments setup.

    Finance Manager

    Job Advert Summary    

    • The main purpose of this role is to be responsible for the full accounting and financial function of Qwabi Private Game Reserve (Hospitality only), which includes 3 high end luxury camps (2 are currently open and 1 will open in the next 12-18 months. The property offers a full Game Reserve experience, with food and beverage, spa, kids club, conferencing, gym, game drives.
    • The role requires a candidate that is detail orientated, analytical, deadline driven and a problem solver. The role is a senior role, property based and the package includes a basic, medical aid (50% contribution for main member, in terms of group policy), pension contribution by employer and employee, 1 meal per day while on duty/meal allowance and a house on the reserve.
    • The aspects of this role are ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of financial reporting. Doing the day-today processing, managing suppliers, payments, cash forecasting and balance sheet recons. This role also plays a strategic part in budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and supporting executive management in financial decision-making to optimise the hotel's profitability.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Minimum 5 years of financial management experience, with at least 2 years in the hospitality industry.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Required)
    • Completed SAICA/SAIPA/CIMA articles or equivalent (Preferred)
    • Proficient on SAGE Evolution & SAGE Intacct and advanced Excel.
    • Opera and Micros knowledge will be advantageous
    • Excellent understanding of financial reporting standards (IAS, IFRS)
    • Must be able to collaborate with the team, as well as work independently and manage time appropriately.
    • Attention to detail and analytical acumen
    • Self-motivated, innovative, problem solver & strong negotiator
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work in a pressurized environment with deadlines
    • Good planning skills and organisation abilities.

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • The main responsibilities are managing and maintaining the accounting records, in line with the applicable reporting standards and Group Finance SOP
    • (Standard Operating Procedures). This includes ensuring that the accounting records are accurate and fairly represent the financial performance and position of the hotel.  
    • Day to day processing of all financial data (invoices, journames)
    • The monthly preparation of the management accounts and executive summary, detailing variances against prior year, budget and forecast.
    • Submission of the monthly management parck to Newmark Head Office assisting with questions, were relevant.
    • Processing of all relevant monthly journal entries - this would include prepaids to be expensed, any accruals, etc. 
    • Process and reconcile the cashbooks/bank accounts
    • Reconciling & processing of the monthly payroll including medical aid and pension funds, and submission to Head Office, submissions of EMP201 including loading of payments for approval.
    • Reconciling of monthly VAT.
    • Together with cost control team and respective HOD's to ensure that ther are, at all times proper procedures and controls for purchasing, receiving, stores and requisitioning and carries the responsibility for all supplier contracts, in line with Group Finance SOP's 
    • Reviewing and interrogating monthly stock take reports and processing the necessary monthly journals
    • Preparation of the annual budget. This includes communication with the various departments regarding their expenditure.
    • Preparation of monthly forecast.
    • Maintaining the debtors (together with Group Debtors Manager) and suppliers age analysis.
    • Preparing and loading weekly & monthly payments for submission to head office.
    • Co-ordinate with external auditors over the year end audit.
    • Oversee the financial performance and management of the company's various business units and making recommendations for improvement
    • Ensuring thta all balance sheets are reconciled and reviewed monthly and follow up and resolve unreconciled items timeously 
    • Conduct and participate in monthly feedback meeteing with the HOD team to review prior months financials results, discuss operational issues and any other related business
    • Provide financial guidance to department managers
    • Foster and culture of accountability and continuous improvement
    • Work closely with the General Manager of the hotel and to provide assistance and feedback from a finance perspective that will assist with decision making
    • Timeous identifiation of issues to head office and General Manager and immediate resolution
    • Collaboration and communication with Head Office finance team
    • Carry out finance directives from Head Office
    • Ad hoc finance duties as required
