    Engineer II (Bakeries)

    Job Description

     

    • Setting of maintenance policy and strategy and implementation of PM systems

    • Manage preventative maintenance system and optimise plant & equipment reliability and performance

    • Manage internal / technical / process projects (incl. major shutdowns, breakdowns, machine installations

    • Manage maintenance performance scorecard including budget for an area

    • Process optimisation, incl. damages reduction and implementation of latest technology

    • Optimise team structure and performance

    • Quality and throughput enhancement

     

    Qualifications/Requirements

     

    • Relevant Degree or Diploma within Engineering field. Government Certificate of Competence advantageous.

    • Minimum 6 years experience in manufacturing and/or supply chain.

    • Food industry (Bakery) experience advantageous

    • ‘Hands on’ approach on the factory floor if required.

    • Go-To-Person on Productivity Process, and Best Practices around Driving Productivity.

    • Ability to travel nationally to our sites as required.

    • Ability to work cross-functionally.

    • Strong internal and external communicator, influencer, and negotiator.

    • Maintenance Budgeting experience

    • Vendor management skills

    • Sound understanding and application of preventative maintenance principles/practices

    • Management experience in internal / technical / process projects (incl. major shutdowns, breakdowns, machine installations )

    Regional Expert & Trainer (Bakeries)

    Job Description

    • Process Capability, Technical Competence and Best Practice Roll Out. Establish 3-5 year performance targets for the BU by site and product category.

    • Provide “hands on/on the floor ‘ support to plants in effectively running the Process or Packaging departments and function as the Region technical expert.

    • Establish tactical plans to reach “Best in Class” performance for relevant Platform KPIs.

    • Lead BU Productivity (i.e. Productivity Pipeline, and Breakthrough Innovation) programme and agenda for the Platform (~ $0.5 – $1 MM per annum).

    • Own and maintain standards of IPS and relevant product and process standards.

    • Support the approval of all new Platform and Product innovation.

    • Provide input and support application of new Lens 4 Initiatives working closely with Sector MOS.

    • Provide support to field operations teams on technical issues beyond the capability of the plants.

    • Lead the start-up and commissioning of new plants, lines, and packaging equipment through the network of Site Experts.

    • Coach and Develop Specialists and SET’s through their Personal Development Plans (i.e. ACE Discussions).

    • Support Sustainability programs relevant to Platform (i.e. Water usage on Beverages and Energy consumption)

    Qualifications/Requirements

    • Relevant 3 year tertiary qualification within the Engineering field.

    • Minimum 3 years experience in manufacturing and/or supply chain in Bakeries Industry.

    • Solid working experience and technical knowledge in Food Manaufacturing advantageous.

    • ‘Hands on’ approach on the factory floor if required.

    • Coaching and training skills required to develop and build front line capability at sites.

    • Go-To-Person and SME in Product category.

    • Ability to travel nationally to our sites as required.

    • Ability to work cross-functionally.

    Delivery Assistant

    Job Description

    • Off-loading goods from the truck to customers

    • Carrying crates to the shop

    • Packing the goods onto the customers’ shelf

    • Counting at the same time to ensure correct delivery

    • Returning crates to the truck

    • Assisting the driver when reversing

    • Assisting the driver with changing a puncture on route

    Qualifications/Requirements

    Matric or NQF3 (shortlisted applicants will be assessed)
