    Fitter (6 Months Contract) - Prospecton Plant Snacks

    Job Overview:

    • The main purpose is primarily to ensure maximum plant availability through effective preventative and planned maintenance and will accordingly attend to all breakdowns, diagnosis (using different problem-solving techniques) and conduct the necessary repairs and mechanical modifications and sign off work done as meeting required standards.

    Conducts Diagnosis of Equipment Failures

    • Works with and through technicians and other employees to establish mechanical and equipment performance before breakdowns were reported
    • Establishes whether the equipment breakdown is related to a missed planned maintenance or part failure or human interference
    • Uses any of the problem (finding and) solving techniques like 5-Whys, RCA, decision trees etc to pinpoint the real problem behind failures/breakdowns
    • Completes job card in consultation with the maintenance planner and requisitions a part or modifies mechanical parts depending on the outcome of the above

    Conducts Preventative Maintenance

    • Performs defined and/or ad hoc condition monitoring on mechanical equipment
    • Completes documentation relating to work done for future reference in the event of failures
    •  May replace parts in the event of noted probable failures to ensure continuous equipment running
    • Continuous reference to equipment drawings, engineering standards and GMPs in the performance and closing out of jobs done

    Planned Maintenance

    • Ensures that scheduled maintenance in terms of Engineering plans is conducted as prescribed following defined protocols and compliance to GMPs
    • Ensures that machined spares are available as and when required and shall schedule time to execute this one
    • Completes job cards and parts requisition documents timeously to improve on mean time to repair thus ensuring high plant availability

    Plant Breakdowns

    • Attends to all mechanical plant breakdowns following or informed by diagnosis conducted under point 1 above
    • In the event of mechanical modifications, follows defined procedures in updating relevant documentation and equipment records
    • Proactively escalates equipment problems to ensure minimal time stoppages
    • Maintains IPS standards on the respective lines
    • Clearly demarcated workstation in accordance with procedures in the event of major work to minimise disruptions and possible injuries as a result of human traffic and area being used as thoroughfare
    • Adheres to AIB and relevant food safety programmes and environmental protocols
    • Completes documentation of work done and close out on ad hoc call outs
    • Updates parts/spares records in conjunction with the stores (OEM, machined and generic spares/parts)
    • Monitors equipment performance after attending to and fixing problems

    Qualifications

    • Qualified Trade Tested Fitter
    • Min N3 Engineering qualification
    • Min 3 years post trade test experience within a manufacturing environment
    • Good mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fault-finding skills
    • Ability to prepare and read mechanical schematics
    • Ability to carry out basic welding, machining and drilling
    • Working knowledge of lifting equipment e.g. chain blocks, hydraulic jack
    • Fully conversant with Environmental, Health and Safety Standards
    • Responsible for Technical Assets
    • Computer literate with knowledge of MS Office and maintenance software (SAP preferably)

    EHS Coordinator (Temporary) - Prospecton Plant Snacks

    Responsibilities

    What we’re looking for:

    • We are looking for a Temporary EHS Coordinator to join our dynamic team. Maintain the EHS management system (GEHSMS – ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001). Ensure compliance to applicable Regulations and By-Laws.
    • Manage document control system, generate weekly and monthly reports and coordinate EHS action program for the site.

    Accountabilities

    • Scheduling SHE Committee meetings in the Prospecton – Manufacturing & Warehousing
    • Co-ordinate monthly & annual EHS Steering Group meetings and collate the information necessary for review by the senior team.
    • Compiling the minutes of the meetings and maintaining the records for continuous or future reference.
    • Load and Maintain the EHS action tracker on a daily and weekly basis (Near misses, BBS, accident/incident reports, non-conformance reports, risk assessment reports) on MyEHS system.
    • Follow up on compensation claims via occupational health Centre and ensure all documentations are received and filed with incident reports.
    • Drive GEHSMS agenda, Standard Owner, overall action plan management and support in the GEHSMS program.
    • Load evidence on compliance tasks on MyEHS.
    • Purchase and Issue PPE and other safety supplies.
    • Communicate and maintain conformance with all suppliers- Clinic, Enviroserv, Fidelity, etc
    • Coordinate & ensure training records of all critical tasks and safe working practices are kept.
    • Ensure training matrix is updated and follow up training done as scheduled.
    • Assist in emergency drills.
    • Review of policies and procedures and carry out document control and distribution and communication of changes to the system.
    • Ensure that appropriate records are properly controlled, whilst also managing the proper storage and filing of controlled documents.
    • Ensure that documents are stored & preserved in terms of any internal and statutory requirements for the required retention periods as applicable.
    • Planning and facilitating EHS Induction trainings and other EHS related trainings

    Contractor Management

    • Assist in achieving EHS AOP for the site is achieved which includes but not limited to recorded incidents, waste, MESS amongst other KPI’s
    • Ensuring compliance to the Wastewater treatment plant and Waste management areas
    • Participate in risk assessments and assist in action closure.
    • Participate and assist in execution of sustainability initiatives and EHS campaigns.
    • Updating and maintain visual EHS awareness around the site.

    Qualifications

    Long Haul Driver - Shakaskraal Bakery

    Responsibilities

    Job Overview:

    • Responsible for transporting large quantities of goods over long distances.
    • Responsible for prompt delivery in bulk or bag to assigned customers and ensured that Products were delivered with no driver related defects.
    • Communicating with despatch regarding delivery details, delays and problems with the delivery.
    • Monitoring the operation of vehicles to ensure safe driving practices are used at all times.
    • Maintaining accurate records of fuel usage, vehicle maintenance schedules and cargo loads and ensure that fuel consumption is at the agreed standard.

    • Responsible for reporting of defects/zero breakdowns, responsible for safety of vehicle and adherence to good driving practices including safety inspection stops.
    • Responsible for initial fault finding iro vehicle breakdowns, including tyre changes.
    • Ensured availability on Cell Phone.
    • Zero Speed/Traffic related fines.
    • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.

    Qualifications

    • Long distance Code 14 licensed driver
    • Ability to drive for long periods of time.
    • Navigation skills.
    • Ability to lift heavy objects if needed.
