    Professional Nurse Mentor---Northwest (Dr Kenneth Kaunda)

    Description

    Required Minimum Qualifications

    • Diploma in General Nursing
    • VMMC Training course.
    • Quality Improvement Training
    • Desired Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in nursing science
    • Infection Prevention and Control Training/course
    • Post graduate qualification in either of the following: HIV/ AIDS/ TB/ STI.

    Required Minimum Experience

    • 2 years in VMMC Service provision as a Professional Nurse
    • 1 year Experience in a Public Health setting
    • 1 year Experience in VMMC Quality Improvement
    • Desired Experience
    • 3 years’ experience in VMMC Service provision as a Professional Nurse
    • 2 years’ experience as a professional Nurse in Public Health
    • 2 years’ experience in VMMC Quality Improvement

    Requirements
    Responsibilities

    • Assist facility staff in developing effective quality improvement plans
    • Support in follow up of all circumcised clients and management of identified adverse events.
    • Support in the development of relevant job aids and standard operating procedures as requested by Line Management.
    • Mentor clinical staff at every VMMC service delivery point as per NDoH/WHO guidelines within Professional Nurses’ professional scope of practice.
    • Provide continuous quality improvement support to Right to Care-supported VMMC facilities as per identified gaps.
    • Provide in-service training to clinical teams as per identified gaps.
    • Assess whether referral networks and linkages of clients are properly executed.
    • Facilitate the sustainability of VMMC services in all supported facilities through involvement of other stakeholders in QI activities.
    • Ensure all data generated is verified before submission in all facilities.
    • Ensure adherence to infection Prevention and control measures in all facilities
    • Ensure that all facilities have a CQI Champion.
    • Assess Medical Circumcision Surgical Procedure Standard.
    • Assess Infection Control Standard.
    • Assess pre- and post-operative care services rendered by clinical personnel.
    • Assess Supplies, Equipment, Environment and Emergency Standard.
    • Assess all sub-standards related to follow ups
    • Compile and submit assessment/support visit reports to the CQI Team Leader in time.
    • Compile quality assessment reports and submit to facilities within 10 working days.
    • Ensure all facilities receive assessment/support visit reports within the agreed workplan.
    • Report any challenges to the Team Leader on time.
    • Fill in for other mentors at sites as and when required by line management.
    • Execute all CQI Team Leader tasks when required by Management.

    Demand Creation Officer (Western Cape)

    Description

    • Right to Care requires the services of a suitable qualified, well-motivated and results-driven candidate to be appointed in the above-mentioned vacant position based in Western Cape.

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    • Introduce the VMMC programme to communities and conduct profiling by means of various sources.
    • Based on the results obtained from community profiling, allocate Social Mobilisers to various supported areas by means of GIS Mapping in order to ensure proper coverage of target/pivot populations.
    • Coordinate and supervise demand creation activities performed by Social Mobilisers within various Right to Care-supported areas.
    • Schedule demand creation activities (i.e. information sessions, talks, events, etc.). aimed at promoting VMMC in designated areas (i.e. door-to-door visits, events at taxi ranks, youth clubs, malls, etc.).
    • Create appropriate demand creation training plans based on training needs analyses.
    • Engage with clinical roving teams to create accurate and proper service delivery schedules.
    • Draft and submit weekly reports that outline activities completed and the number of leads.
    • Schedule and maintain a monthly calendar of VMMC outreach activities.
    • Submit weekly and monthly reports of the social mobilisers’ performance to the Demand Creation Coordinator.
    • Actively engage with community leaders and structures in communities surrounding VMMC facilities to promote VMMC services and to identify demand creation opportunities.
    • Actively seek out opportunities for Social Mobilisers to participate in events and collaborate with organisations, government and/or schools for VMMC service delivery.
    • Collaborate with local stakeholders (Community Based Organisations and other partners) to ensure proper coordination of social mobilisation campaigns..
    • Mentor Social Mobilisers by addressing their challenges and barriers that prohibit them from reaching their targets
    • Conduct weekly performance reviews of targets reached by Social Mobilisers.

    Requirements

    • Matric (Grade 12) and a certificate in Marketing and Communications
    • A valid South African driver’s license endorsed with a  PrDP(Professional Driving Permit) is compulsory
    • Two years experience in organising and overseeing health promotion events, activities and projects at a community level cultural specific context
    • Excellent written and verbal communication in both English and local vernaculars
