    Maintenance Artisan Instrumentation (C2) (North West)

    Description
    SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY:

    • Comply with SHEQ requirements (SHEQ Toolbox

    CUSTOMERS:

    • Ensure customer satisfaction
    • Production and Metallurgical staff 

    BUSINESS PROCESSES:

    Key performance activities:

    • Complete a breakdown work order.
    • Create a notification.
    • Providing correct feedback.
    • Executing work.
    • Applying fault finding techniques.
    • Conduct regular plant inspections.
    • Maintaining and/or repairing low level and high level instrumentation and technical equipment.
    • Perform standby duties.

    • All breakdown work orders correctly completed:

    • Correct Functional Location

    Requirements

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

    • Grade 12 / N2
    • Relevant Instrumentation Trade Certificate
    • At least 3 years relevant experience as an Instrumentation artisan

    Skills & Knowledge:

    • Siemens PCS7 SCADA system and mid-level control system knowledge
    • Working knowledge of conveyor belt scales
    • Working knowledge of Process Automation GAMMA Density Gauges
    • Working knowledge of Endress & Huaser Process Instruments (flow, level)
    • Working knowledge of variable speed drives
    • Working knowledge of control valves
    • Working knowledge of Siemens Simocodes
    • Expert Knowledge on Belt scale and Density Gauge Calibration methods
    • Sound Knowledge of Plant Industrial Networks.

    Maintenance Practitioner Instrumentation (North West)

    Description
    Job Responsibilities:

    SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY:

    • Identify and assess level of continuous risk exposures in area of responsibility by considering exposures to business, financial, legal issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes, etc.
    • Consider the level of risk, apply mitigation and implement control measures for residual risk (set objectives, minimum requirements, etc.)
    • Comply with SHEQ requirements (SHEQ Toolbox) 
    • Utilise the Integrated Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status.

    • Design and structure Control System and PLC and SCADA software
    • Perform regular SCADA system backups
    • Ensure all belt scales and density gauges are maintained and calibrated
    • Ensure maximum availability of the control system fibre optic network, leaky feeder communication system & conveyor belt fire monitoring systems
    • Provide inputs to Process Control
    • Assist with capital projects
    • Liaise with other sections and departments
    • Ensure customer satisfaction
    • Conduct and distribute RCFA reports

    Requirements

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

    • National Diploma / BTech in Electrical Engineering (Process Instrumentation & Control) would be advantageous

    Maintenance Artisan Rigger (Rustenburg)

    Description
    Job Responsibilities:

    SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY:

    • Participate and comply with SHEQ requirements (SHEQ Toolbox)
    • Adhere to the legislated safety, health and environmental standards in every task performed
    • Isolate and lockout with relevant documents
    • Assess and respond to related risks in working areas
    • Never hand over equipment that is inappropriately maintained
    • Never do a job without receiving authorisation in the form of a notification of a work order

    CUSTOMERS:

    • Ensure customer satisfaction
    • Perform the job as outlined in the Work Order and as per the detailed Task List
    • Capture history & complete the notification to the required standard
    • Confirm Work Order with the correct time and all details to the required standard
    • Conduct fault finding on defective equipment where required
    • Ensure adherence to health and safety, environment, quality and housekeeping in section
    • Apply fault-finding techniques, conduct root cause failure analysis and regular plant inspections
    • Maintain and repair mechanical parts, components and equipment
    • Comply with OHSA and MHSA standards, ensure that installations comply with statutory regulations, conform to safety standard and planned maintenance system requirements
    • Ensure awareness of relevant COP content
    • Complete breakdown work order, create notification, provide feedback and generate orders on the SAP system
    • Provide feedback to the Maintenance Supervisor on any task where there is a difference between the task instruction and the job requirements
    • Communicate if spares, equipment or other factors were not available for job on the work order and to the Maintenance Supervisor
    • Generate Notifications from inspections and subsequent Notifications
    • Maintain and repair mechanical parts, components and equipment
    • Perform inspections on lifting equipment according to legal requirements and engineering standards
    • Plan and coordinate the rigging and lifting of specialised tasks/heavy equipment in the operational areas.

    Planned Interventions:

    • Perform isolation and lockout, and issue lockout documents
    • Prioritise rigging and lifting activities according to production requirements
    • Record all data related to the stoppage on the works order.

    Unplanned Interventions:

    • Adhere to lock-out procedure and risk requirement to before work starts
    • Attend to brake- down quickly and safely
    • Capture all data related to the stoppage to aid in determining the root cause.

    Rotables Management:

    • Ensure availability of spares by adhering to rotables procedure where applicable.

    General:

    • Communicate rigging and lifting related information to the relevant Supervisor.

    Requirements
    Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

    • Grade 12 / N2
    • Relevant Trade Certificate
    • 3 years relevant experience as an artisan, 2 years supervisory experience

    Skills:

    • Relevant Maintenance CSAP
    • Rigging plans

    Knowledge:

    • All makes of Rigging equipment as per MHSA
