    Fisheries Regulatory Officer

    About the Role 

    • The Fisheries Regulatory Officer serves as an administrative role in the Group’s strategic function. The successful candidate will ensure that records, regulatory documentation and critical data relating to the Group’s fishing and aquaculture regulatory requirements are accurate, complete and readily accessible, enabling effective legal and compliance. 

    Key Responsibilities 

    Records & Information Management 

    • Maintain and manage records relating to the Group’s fishing licenses. 
    • Maintain comprehensive fishing regulatory and compliance records applicable to the Group. 

    Fishing Rights Administration 

    • Assist with the administration of the Group’s fishing licences. 

    Industry Data Management 

    • Compile and maintain national and international fishing industry data and relevant industry statistics. 
    • Support the collection, analysis and management of Group data required for any stakeholder engagement. 

    Stakeholder & Governance Support 

    • Coordinate and administer joint venture relationships. 
    • Assist with company secretarial responsibilities relating to joint venture partners, ensuring accurate governance documentation and compliance records. 

    Minimum Requirements 

    • Law degree or diploma. 
    • 1–2 years’ experience in administration, data management or records management. 
    • High level of accuracy with exceptional attention to detail. 
    • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion. 
    • Strong organisational, record-keeping and time management skills. 
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. 

    Advantageous 

    • Exposure to the fishing, maritime, regulatory or compliance environment. 
    • Knowledge of the South African fisheries regulatory landscape, including the Marine Living Resources Act (MLRA) and the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment’s administrative processes.

    Dispatch Supervisor

    • An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably qualified and experienced Dispatch Supervisor to join our Operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the daily dispatch operations, ensuring the accurate, safe, and timely receipt and dispatch of products while maintaining exceptional customer service and compliance with company procedures and food safety standards.

    Reporting to: Operations Manager
    Department: Operations
    Locations: South Arm Road, V&A Waterfront

    KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

    • Supervise and coordinate all daily dispatch activities.
    • Ensure all customer orders are picked, checked, loaded, and dispatched accurately and on time.
    • Manage and supervise dispatch personnel, including work allocation, performance management, attendance, and training.
    • Ensure stock accuracy and maintain inventory integrity.
    • Verify all dispatch documentation, including delivery notes, invoices, and transport documentation.
    • Liaise with Production, Cold Stores, Logistics, Transporters, Sales, and customers to ensure efficient product flow.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, food safety requirements, and health and safety legislation.
    • Monitor housekeeping and maintain high standards within the dispatch area.
    • Investigate and report stock variances, damages, and operational discrepancies.
    • Assist with stock counts and inventory control activities.
    • Drive continuous improvement within the dispatch operation.
    • Ensure optimal utilization of labour and equipment.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILS & KNOWLEDGE

    • Grade 12 (Matric).
    • Relevant qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Warehouse Management will be advantageous.
    • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a dispatch, warehouse or logistics environment.
    • Minimum of 2 years’ supervisory experience.
    • Experience within the food manufacturing, fishing or cold storage industry will be advantageous.
    • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook).
    • Experience working with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems (such as NAV), or similar inventory systems.
    • Valid driver’s licence.

    COMPETENCIES

    • Strong leadership and people management skills.
    • Excellent planning, organisational and time management abilities.
    • Sound knowledge of warehouse and dispatch operations.
    • Understanding of inventory control and stock management.
    • Knowledge of food safety and health and safety requirements.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • High attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
    • Willingness to work overtime, weekends and public holidays when operationally required
