    Digital Account Director

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

    Provide excellent account management services by assuming control of and accountability for the delivery of the account strategy and to ensure good financial management of all accounts under your control.

     

    KEY REPONSIBILITIES: 

    • The orchestration of great creative presentations
    • Ensure the profitable delivery of relevant portfolios
    • Have a sound working knowledge and understanding of the communications research process and its various methodologies
    • Manage client relationships effectively
    • Have an in-depth understanding of the client’s business
    • Offer strategic input to the client’s business
    • Optimise the client’s marketing budget
    • Be aware of national and international trends in the client’s business
    • Grow the portfolio into other areas of the client’s business
    • Manage deadlines effectively
    • Manage team 
    • Mentor and coach personnel
    • Allocate work to relevant divisions or companies within the group
    • Maintain good relationships within the agency
    • Oversee the administration of the account
    • Ensure the profitability of the account
    • Ensure Creative is properly briefed
    • Have a good working knowledge and understanding of TBWA’s philosophies and strategic proprietary tools – Disruption\, Connections\, MBA\
    • Have a sound knowledge of all production processes within the agency
    • Fill in time sheets on a weekly basis
    • Attend all training initiatives
    • Alert agency management to potential problems/crises timeously
    • Undertake to work additional hours outside of regular business hours as part of the job, with no extra remuneration, as and when required
    • Develop an acute ability to judge great work and great ideas
    • Maintain the professional image of the agency at all times

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Minimum of three to five years' experience as an Account Director with a creative or advertising agency
    • Proven experience in the management of client accounts
    • Solid project management experience
    • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities

    Business Unit Director - Sandton

    Description

    We’re looking for dynamic individual who needs to meet the following requirements:

    • Be very strategic, decisive, a problem solver, a quick thinker.
    • Able to understand the political playing field, and provide guidance and support to the team who need to create and implement a campaign, from both client and agency side.
    • A real bridge between the party and creative teams, ear to the ground and in touch with the latest news, trends and topics that could influence our target market emotively and cognitively.
    • Present the ideas to the head of the party as a strong recommendation for quick approvals.
    • The campaign is going to be 24/7, fast paced, hugely impactful and measured by the number of people who we convert, and how quickly we convert them.
    • The successful incumbent will be under a lot of pressure to deliver, and to pull the team together over the festive period which is traditionally time spent with family/friends and loved ones.
    • The successful incumbent needs to have a strong network of contacts and be able to leverage from the same.
    • Will need to understand pecking order, and who to talk to get things done.
    • The successful incumbent needs to be calm, a strong leader, focused on the end goal.
    • Campaign management experience with knowledge and understanding of the SA political landscape will be a huge advantage.

    Senior Copywriter

    Key Purpose:

    • Ability to interrogate the brief and strategy in order to produce world-class ideas, craft in copywriting and results on all conventional and unconventional media types for their client/potential client.
    • Creative
    • To take accountability in ensuring all their creative output consistently meets the highest quality standards.
    • To present creative work internally and externally in a clear, professional and impactful manner.
    • To produce and craft original and great concepts and copy proactively and in response to creative briefs of existing clients or potential clients.
    • Work with Strategy & Account Management to understand the clients’ brand and manage projects in a way that will support the delivery of iconic work for the brand.
    • Actively encourage and facilitate collaboration within the creative department and other departments.
    • Stay aware of current trends, popular culture, ideas, work in order to confidently stay ahead of the curve and stay relevant and contemporary.
    • Consistently develop and refine their craft in a way that demonstrates a real passion for the work they do.
    • To contribute to the shop window (local and international awards).

    Business Management

    • Accurate recording of work time.
    • Actively participate in new business pitches and business development when required.
    • Responsibility to spread positive sentiment and not to add fuel any negative sentiments in a way that is destructive to the agency’ reputation both internally and externally.

    People/Collaboration

    • To help develop the creative department to anticipate and reflect the changing needs of agency and its’ clients through on the job development, active participation in the creative department (e.g. Disruption, training, and other company initiatives)
    • Provide feedback to your Creative Director regarding improvements that could be made to the creative department and the agency.
    • Has actively supported and involved team members at the appropriate time to resolve issues.
    • Has encouraged all members to look for collaborative ways to make the agency a great place to work.

    Requirements
    Knowledge and Experience required:

    • 5 years plus as a copywriter in a leading creative agency/company that has generated or can generate and produce world-class ideas and copy for the agency and their clients or potential clients.

    Skills and Educational Requirements:

    • World-class copywriting ability.
    • Technical writing proficiency.
    • Presentation skills.
    • Strategically minded.
    • Diverse writing style. (profound, comedy, epic, poetic)
    • Technical understanding of tv & content production, edits, sound, music, voice and direction.

    Optional extras:

    • Influencer, opinion leader, blog site, editorial experience, poetry, After Effects, 3D rendering, illustration, editing, design, songwriter, sound production, artist.
