    Marketer (Timber)

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Identify Market needs for Timber (Mining Timber, Pulpwood and Saw timber)
    • Research, study, and assess current market
    • Analyse competitors’ products and identify potential market opportunities
    • Create appropriate marketing strategies for timber
    • Coordinate with internal marketing, sales, and accounts receivable department
    • Provide appropriate consultancy services to customers to enhance timber sales
    • Find prospective customers/clients and new target segment
    • Process customer orders in a timely manner, ensuring the clients approval
    • Up-sell and cross-sell timber products or services to existing customers which will also include TWK operations and their relevant markets
    • Contact prospective customers and provide them with information on the company and the timber products/services provided
    • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external parties
    • Assist with client queries and problems
    • Assist with Certification and COC implementation with suppliers
    • Liaise with all markets to ensure orders and quality is acceptable
    • Liaise with all Timber mills to ensure raw material production requirements are available
    • Ensure monthly and quarterly forecasts for timber mills are provided
    • Liaise with and arrange transport for timber products to markets
    • Fire duty during fire season
    • Be prepared work after hours when necessary
    • Be prepared to work outdoors most of the day
    • Prepare annual budgets

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Preferably a National Diploma in Forestry or BTech or relevant experience in the field
    • Minimum of 5 years’ forestry experience
    • Computer literate in Word and Excel
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Valid Passport
    • Bilingual (Afrikaans & English)
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Must be strong team player while also being self-driven and able to work alone

    Manager: Maintenance

    Responsibilities and Duties:

    • Develop and implement maintenance schedules for equipment, tools, and infrastructure
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in maintenance activities
    • Perform regular inspections of the nursery facilities, including greenhouses, storage areas, and outdoor spaces
    • Supervise and train maintenance staff, including technicians and labourers
    • Coordinate daily tasks and assign responsibilities to team members
    • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment
    • Manage the maintenance and repair of irrigation systems, greenhouse climate control systems, and other nursery equipment
    • Keep inventory of maintenance supplies and order parts as necessary
    • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions promptly
    • Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective practices
    • Track maintenance activities and report on performance metrics
    • Develop plans for capital improvements and equipment upgrades
    • Work closely with horticulturists and production teams to align maintenance activities with nursery operations
    • Coordinate with external contractors for specialized maintenance tasks or repairs
    • Promote and implement sustainable maintenance practices, such as recycling and energy-efficient systems
    • Stay updated on new technologies and practices that can enhance operational efficiency

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Matric / Grade 12
    • Diploma in agriculture, horticulture, facility management, engineering, or a related field
    • Relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical) (advantageous)
    • At least 5 years' of experience in maintenance management, preferably in a horticultural or agricultural setting
    • Proven experience managing a team and leading maintenance projects
    • Strong knowledge of maintenance procedures and best practices
    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
    • Efficient and organised
    • Willing to work outdoors
