    Project Coordinator 4.05

    The Project Co-Ordinator position will be attached to the Process Evaluation of the Bukhali trial, which involves monitoring and evaluation of the trial (mostly qualitative) and working closely with the trial 
    team and researchers.

    The successful candidate will be based within the DPHRU site in at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital in Soweto, Johannesburg.
    Brief Description        
    General Responsibilities:

    • Monitoring and evaluation of the Bukhali trial, primarily observations of the trial sessions as well as conducting interviews and focus groups with the trial participants and implementers
    • Oversee the logistics and resources of the Bukhali Process Evaluation
    • Supervision of a Research Assistant for the Bukhali Process Evaluation

    Requirements:

    • Matric with a post-secondary qualification (social science and humanities or monitoring and  evaluation) is essential.
    • Previous work experience (at least 5 years) in a research environment and with qualitative  research methods is essential.
    • The successful candidate must have good supervisory and interpersonal skills, and excellent  organizational ability.
    • High levels of computer literacy in the following packages (MS Office, Access, Excel, Powerpoint,  Internet, and E-mail)
    • A valid driver’s license is essential
    • Must be willing to work at the Unit at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital.

    Administrative Officer - Grade AD 10 (5 Months Fixed Term Contract)

    Brief Description        
    Minimum qualifications/requirements/criteria:

    • Grade 12, a relevant qualification in Administration would be an advantage.
    • Three years of relevant experience in an administrative role at the University (or tertiary educational sector) will be advantageous.
    • Must be highly computer literate in MS Office, E-mail, Internet, database experience and knowledge of ORACLE/WAMS.
    • Display high levels of initiative.
    • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), interpersonal, and organizational skills required.
    • Ability to work independently in a pressured environment and meet deadlines.
    • Accuracy and attention to detail is essential.
    • Must have an understanding of the higher education sector, as well as knowledge of the University's systems and procedures.

    Key job functions include:

    • Capturing all test marks, assignments and examination marks.
    • Dissemination of marks to Faculties, Schools and Departments.
    • Assists with maintaining contact with students by handling telephonic, written and walk-in student enquiries.
    • Responsible for all aspects of student marks, records and liaising with Course Coordinators.
    • Produce information for reports on academic information for staff
    • Organizing lecture and tutorial venues.
    • Perform any other general duties as allocated by the Head of School.
