About the role

Deliver Working Software

• Define, implement, and evolve the overall test strategy for our products, ensuring comprehensive test coverage
• Design, build, and maintain scalable, and reusable automated test frameworks integrated into our CI/CD pipeline
• Author and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases (manual and automated) to test desktop, web, and mobile applications
• Set up, execute, and analyse performance and load testing scenarios to ensure application scalability and stability
• Identify, document, and track defects with clarity and precision using tools like Jira; collaborate with the development team to ensure timely resolution

Team Collaboration and Participation

• Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Developers to understand requirements and define acceptance criteria
• Actively participate in all agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
• Provide clear updates on testing progress, quality status, and risks to stakeholders
• Mentor and support other Test Engineers, sharing knowledge, conducting test case reviews, and promoting best practices

Process Improvement

• Champion QA best practices and drive continuous improvement in our testing processes, tools, and methodologies
• Proactively identify opportunities and lead initiatives to improve test efficiency and effectiveness
• Evaluate and recommend new testing technologies and tools to enhance our quality assurance capabilities

About you

• Extensive experience in a software quality assurance role
• Proven experience creating detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases
• Strong knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and extensive experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
• Proven experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, Xray)
• Familiar with CI/CD pipelines and associated tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins)
• Strong knowledge of cross-browser / cross-device testing platforms (e.g. BrowserStack)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail
• Quality focused with a proactive ‘think outside the box’ mindset
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to collaborate effectively across teams
• Experience leading and mentoring, with a focus on helping others grow

About the role

• Implement responsive web design to ensure optimal user experience across various devices and screen sizes
• Work with front-end frameworks and libraries, such as React, JavaScript, HTML, Typescript, SCSS/CSS & ES6 Vanilla Javascript
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility and address performance issues
• Build server-side applications using programming languages like Node.js, Python, Ruby, Java, or PHP

About you

• Extensive full stack web development experience ideally with an ecommerce focus  
• Strong level React, JavaScript, HTML, Typescript, SCSS/CSS & ES6 Vanilla Javascript 
• Expert C#, ASP.Net MVC, ReactJs, with Angular exposure a plus 
• Advanced web development including AJAX, SPA, SEO, cross-browser, various JS frameworks, REST API design / integration, CSS including server-side pre-processing such as LESS, SASS
• Strong SQL Server
• Experience working with CMS, Umbraco preferred
• Experience with Windows Server / IIS 
• Experience working within an Agile SDLC
• Excellent communication, organisational, or mentoring skills

About the role

AI-Enhanced Threat Detection & Response

• Use machine learning, generative AI, and agentic AI to analyse vast security datasets, uncover hidden attack patterns, and optimise response workflows
• Perform predictive threat modelling to anticipate emerging cyber threats and proactively enhance security measures
• Leverage AI-driven anomaly detection tools to detect sophisticated cyber adversaries in real time
• Collaborate with Detection Engineers to refine detection logic based on insights gained from AI-powered investigations

Incident Investigation & Threat Hunting

• Lead proactive threat hunting engagements using AI-powered analytics, threat intelligence correlation, and adversary simulation techniques
• Investigate complex security incidents, leveraging SIEM, XDR, cloud security tools, and forensic data to uncover root causes
• Automate investigative workflows using SOAR playbooks, Python scripts, and no-code/low-code automation platforms (n8n, Flowise, Torq)
• Conduct post-incident analysis to continuously refine detection logic and improve response playbooks

Security Automation & AI Integration

• Utilise agentic AI to automate security responses such as account lockouts, network isolations, and WAF rule adjustments
• Work with generative AI and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) to improve SOC documentation, incident reports, and forensic summaries
• Develop automated security workflows to streamline triage, enrichment, and escalation processes

Threat Intelligence & Adversary Simulation

• Track global attack trends, leveraging threat intelligence platforms and AI-driven predictive modelling
• Simulate potential attack scenarios to test detection resilience and improve security posture
• Map attack techniques to the MITRE ATT&CK framework and suggest detection rule enhancements

Strategic Security Operations & Collaboration

• Work closely with the Head of Security Operations to align emerging security threats with the broader SOC strategy
• Engage with DevSecOps, Cloud Security, and Platform Engineering teams to proactively mitigate security risks
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across security operations through research, automation, and AI-enhanced analytics

Requirements

About you

Security Analytics & Threat Hunting Expertise

• Strong hands-on experience with SIEM, XDR, and advanced analytics platforms
• Deep understanding of threat detection, incident response, and adversary tactics
• Knowledge of AI-enhanced security operations, including machine learning-based threat detection

Technical Proficiency

• Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, KQL, or SQL for security automation and analysis
• Familiarity with cloud security monitoring (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience with SOAR platforms and AI-driven security automation

Certifications & Education

• GCIA, GCTI, GOSI, AWS Security Specialty, or equivalent
• Strong grasp of MITRE ATT&CK, threat intelligence frameworks, and cloud-native security operations
