    Irrigation Consultant - NTK Irrigation, Polokwane

    Job Description

    • Reporting to Irrigation Manager, the Designer will be responsible for the survey of land and the design of irrigation schemes, pumprooms, borehole selection, pipeline design and any other duties required from him/her. To create a complete bill of material and quotations of the designed systems. Negotiations with suppliers for best pricing on materials. Expanding the current client base of NTK Irrigation.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12/ NQF4
    • Valid Driver's Licence
    • Minimum 7-year's experience in a similar role
    • Experience of Survey equipment (CHC NAV / TRIMBLE)
    • Experience of Model Maker, AutoCAD, and IrriCAD
    • Computer Literate in MS Office package with advanced MS Excel skills
    • Member of SABI will be an advantage
    • Any Tertiary education will be benefitable (SABI IRRIGATION COURSES)
    • Good knowledge of Plant and Soil science will be an advantage

    Site Manager - VKB Milling, Louis Trichardt - Makhado

    Job Description

    • Responsible for daily production activities, planning and reporting of a site which includes direct management of assigned employees, accountability, responsibility, training and motivating employees, Site procurement & asset control, administration duties in accordance with established targets and methods and set by Operations Management.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 equivalent.
    • At least 5 years’ proven experience in a production environment.
    • Knowledge and Experience in Maize Production.
    • Advanced Microsoft office (incl. Advanced Excel).
    • CB - Code B driver’s license/ own reliable transport.

    Duties and responsibilities

    Provide leadership and guidance to ensure that staff are motivated

    • Ensure that all employee attendance registers are completed daily by team leaders of each site, report any absenteeism to management.
    • Follow up and monitor PRP system with HR assistance.
    • Submit annual leave plans for employees.
    • Submit a Training Matrix for employees annually.
    • Report any vacancies to management.
    • Train Supervisor and team on clocking machine and clocking procedure.
    • Ensure that all sites follow clocking procedure and assist were needed.
    • Identify training needs, maintain training record, planned job observations and assist in training of new and existing employees.
    • Report and misconduct by employees that can lead to a verbal-, written- or final written warning to management and take action.
    • Actively assist with building an effective and productive team.
    • Provide leadership and establish good working relations with all team members.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation as well as VKB Milling policies and procedures.
    • Maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
    • Ensure compliance with all VKB Milling policies and procedures as well as applicable labor legislation.
    • Ensure compliance with all VKB Milling Health and Safety rules and regulations.

    General

    • Participate in work activities to expedite workload.
    • Perform other duties as prescribed by management.
    • Assign duties to employees, monitor and coordinate them to ensure that they are carried out in the most productive and efficient way.
    • Inspect Milling, Packing and Distribution regularly to ensure all standards and procedures are met.
    • Manage and assist with preparation, maintenance, cleaning and receiving of new stock.
    • Maintain a high standard in Site administration and reporting. Daily filing & sign-off.
    • Complete and submit monthly leave plans, overtime justification or application.
    • Do and submit monthly stock counts & complete loose asset register
    • Ensure Emergency equipment is checked monthly, record and report.
    • Complete preventative maintenance planning and submit to Management.
    • Do cycle planning and report to Management.
    • Any other duties as may be required by management.
