    Insurance Internship

    Qualifications, skills & experience:

    • Must have a full qualification (post Matric 3-year degree or diploma)
    • Preferably any Finance related degree or diploma (BCom, etc.)
    • South African citizen
    • Unemployed
    • Aged between 21 – 28
    • Attention to detail and high accuracy levels
    • Strong analytical and numeracy skills
    • Organised, structured and able to work under pressure
    • Meets deadlines and manages time well
    • High levels of enthusiasm
    • Good oral and written English communication skills
    • Computer literate - Microsoft Outlook, Excel & Word
    • Strong writing and research skills
    • Formal training and development
    • NQF Short Term Insurance national qualification (compulsory)
    • RE 5 examination (optional)
    • Informal training and development
    • Ongoing mentoring - Daily practical training, shadowing and on-going feedback on daily activities
    • Weekly competency evaluations, performance management, feedback, training plans and planning sessions

    Front Office Receptionist Bryanston

    PURPOSE:

    • You will be positioned at the main reception desk, at the entrance of the company. The main function is to welcome guests to the office and manage the switchboard, however the role will also involve wider administration activities

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Matric certificate
    • Any relevant qualification for the position

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    • Experience of working in a similar or related role
    • Knowledge of the re/insurance market an advantage
    • Ability to use Microsoft office packages in particular Word and Excel
    • Attention to detail
    • Highly self-motivated
    • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
    • Proactive
    • Ability to deal with complaints and defuse a tense situation/conversation
    • Project Management Skills – able to deal with requests for “one off” pieces of work
    • Calm and resilient under pressure
    • Able to positively react to change

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Greeting and welcoming visitors in a professional manner, maintaining the front desk, resolving and addressing concerns which are delivered to the front desk
    • Managing communication – answering calls, taking messages
    • Scheduling Appointments – as and when required
    • Gaining a good understanding of the people, services offered by the company and the company structure (local and international)
    • Administration task such as typing, filing, printing, data entry, managing office supplies
    • Collaborating with various departments to ensure smooth operations and effective communication
    • Crisis Management – being prepared to handle unexpected situations such as medical or security threats
    • Interprets instructions and issues arising, and then implement actions according to policies and procedures
    • Building a positive image of the company
    • Behave professionally, ethically and fairly
    • Develops strong relationships with suppliers
