    Accountant: Corporate Actions

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance  
    • Honours degree or CA (SA) / CFA / CAIA advantageous
    • Minimum 5 years relevant working experience 

    Duties:  

    • External confirmation of all transactions 
    • Settlement of all transactions (instruction to custodians and system settlement)
    •  Reconciliations as per policy and procedure manual
    •  Account for all corporate actions  
    • Account for all external manager transactions (file imports)
    •  Account for and capture all transactions and adjustments as required in the Investment Operations area.  
    • Static data maintenance on investment operations system (interest rate resets, prime rate changes, inflation rate)  
    • Account for all transactions and other Trial Balance items on the Investment Operations system
    •  Accounts for client instructions
    • Provide assistance and guidance to fund accountants (junior staff) Assist in the management of internal and external audits Prepare management fee calculations daily/monthly  Releasing of payments on the payment system

    Investment Analyst Multi-Management Private Markets

    Minimum qualifications and experience: 

    • Relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification
    • Postgraduate qualification (Hons, Masters, MBA, etc),CFA or CA(SA) would be advantageous
    • FAIS RE 05 Certificate or must be obtained within 6 months of employment
    • 2 – 4 years investment experience. Private Equity, Fund of Funds or Multi-manager experience would be advantageous
    • Ability to conduct a detailed research on sectors or industries.

    Duties:

    • Deal screening - desktop analysis of investment opportunities 
    • Preparation of preliminary scoping reports 
    • Assist the team in complying with the requirements of each stage of the investment process 
    • Assist the team in planning and coordinating due diligence on potential investment opportunities 
    • Assist the team with relevant research and information in structuring and pricing of transactions 
    • Assist the team in preparing term sheets 
    • Assist the team in preparation of appraisal reports 
    • Review transaction agreements 
    • Assist the team in implementation and disbursement process 
    • Assist the team in the handover of approved transactions to various divisions including portfolio management 
    • Assist the team in ongoing monitoring of a portfolio of funds, including review of quarterly reports, valuation, risk management, compliance and reporting 
    • Participate in the exit process for transactions.
