    Corporate Analyst Banker: Health, Hospitality and Services Sector

    Job Description

    • We are looking for someone to join the Healthcare, Hospitality and Services Sector team within the larger Corporate Client Group (“CCG”) to support the Sector Head and other senior bankers in deal origination and client relationship management. 
    • CCG sits in the client facing area of the bank and acts as the face of the bank to our clients. CCG is responsible for maintaining and growing the client relationships within the bank, and for originating transactions across all product offerings within RMB and FNB across South Africa and the rest of the Africa. 
    • The role on offer will give exposure to understanding and learning about all products, including the more complex and sophisticated offerings, and where possible to get involved in supporting on the execution and servicing thereafter. This role provides an excellent opportunity for anyone that has a passion for finance, relationship building and project management, and is hungry to learn and be challenged.

    Are you someone who can:

    • Work independently and take the initiative in supporting the Sector Head and other lead/sector bankers within the team
    • Engage with clients face to face, and provide them with high quality service and insights
    • Work closely with the sector head to drive the strategy, goals and execution plan for the sector
    • Create quality written materials based on high level direction from the team and effectively interpret the information that is presented
    • Work under pressure and effectively manage multiple workstreams at once
    • Lead the development of strategic papers for senior management both in terms of sector updates, new revenue generation, and focus areas for the sector
    • Leverage industry news and reports, market intelligence databases, public data, and medical literature to identify and monitor trends and other emerging topics of priority to the sectors and client groups.
    • Develop analytic models for assessing important new clients and sectors, product and solutions trends and issues impacting the client group and sector ecosystem.
    • Collaborate closely with relevant client group owners and product-solutions stakeholders as per strategy to identify revenue opportunities.
    • Equip the sector and client group teams with information to manage the sector and client group portfolios and to enable the proactive identification of growth opportunities that impact the sector and its clients.
    • Stay abreast of the latest developments in research methodologies, tools, technologies, and best practices in sector and client behaviour research.
    • Assist with sector research that helps identify new revenue opportunities and gaps in the market
    • Manage the overall client event and marketing for the sector
    • Work alongside finance, deal teams and the sector heads in analysing the client MIS information across the sector (geographic regions, products, business units) and keeping the information up to date, ensuring its accuracy and relevance
    • Contribute to the strategic planning process for the sectors and client groups, providing assumptions and analysis to help shape the organization's future direction and priorities
    • Assist in driving cross functional team collaboration and client planning
    • Work alongside product deal teams on selective transactions across product groups
    • Collect and interrogate information and feedback to ensure full understanding of customer needs to deliver a quality service
    • Provide internal stakeholders with relevant information to keep them informed of products and service options
    • Review existing processes and suggest innovative ideas to improve and streamline processes to drive efficiencies in the data quality and reporting formats that can be used for decision making
    • Monitor customer feedback reports and integrate insights and correlated datapoints into respective reporting

    You will be an ideal candidate if you: 

    • Undergraduate degree (minimum)
    • Post graduate qualifications preferred
    • Investment Banking or Finance experience

    Are you someone who can: 

    • Identify and utilise opportunities for revenue growth to deliver on sales targets.
    • Engage with customers to understand their unique requirements, drive value optimisation, and advise best options for product integration and wealth management.
    • Maintain expert knowledge on specific products, pricing, application procedure and processes to drive and achieve relevant sales targets.
    • Be aware of, and responsive to local conditions within geographical area of responsibility.
    • Retain and grow the existing client portfolio to ensure sustainability and profitability.
    • Acquire profitable clients and grow active account base by generating new leads and cross-sell across internal and external networks.
    • Identify and manage credit risk and/or business risk and implement rectification actions.
    • Provide appropriate client value proposition with positive returns.
    • Manage the growth of active customer account base.
    • Collaborate closely with relevant business units and product houses as per strategy to identify revenue opportunities.
    • Analyse, structure and solution/negotiate complex deals with clients.
    • Provide guidance to team on resolution of customer queries.
    • Drive opportunities for revenue growth and cost reduction such as adoption of digital and other self-service options across client base.
    • Improve business decisions by providing accurate and reliable business intelligence (information) together with analysing trends and data.
    • Participate in the Client Action Planning process for clients within the ambit of responsibility, within assigned sector portfolio as part of a cross-functional team.
    • Create solutions to meet customer demands to deliver internal and external customer service excellence through adherence to quality service standards.
    • Provide input into the development of the business area tactical strategy in achievement of the overall business strategy.
    • Network and participate in client and business information sharing and decision-making forums where required.
    • Demonstrate leadership behaviour through personal involvement, commitment, and dedication in support of organisational values.

    You will be an ideal candidate if you: 

    • Have at least 10 years' experience in a similar role
