    General Engineering Supervisor (Diesels), D2, NDC014/25GS

    Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

    • Maintain safe work practices and a safe working environment by ensuring that legal requirements and group working standards and policies related to engineering are implemented and followed on the Operations and Projects
    • Optimise planned maintenance schedules of machinery and equipment ensuring that equipment is effectively maintained
    • Research and implement best practice systems with respect to cost, maintenance, safety and people management
    • Effective People management, ensuring that roles are well defined and clarified and that competencies and learning paths are developed to human capacity and capability
    • Financial Budgeting & Management
    • Participate in ad hoc projects providing input into drafting of scope for new projects
    • Sound knowledge of non-flameproof and flameproof diesel equipment and associated hydraulic/pneumatic components
    • Manage underground diesel dispensing equipment
    • Management of critical spares and sub-assemblies (stock levels/turnaround time and quality of repairs)
    • Structural integrity maintenance management
    • Managing structural/mechanical/hydraulic drawing libraries

    Requirements:

    • N4 Technical certificate and recognised Trade Test in the relevant discipline or National Diploma or Engineering Degree
    • Minimum of 4 years’ experience as an appointed 2.9.2 Engineering Foreman
    • Safety & Risk Management Course
    • Knowledge of Relevant Legislation including: The Mine Health and Safety Act, Minerals and Energy Act, Basic Conditions of Employment and Environmental Legislation
    • An in-depth knowledge of technical engineering aspects such as outside equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and South Africa Bureau of Standards (SABS)
    • A good working knowledge and understanding of machinery and equipment used in the Mining industry
    • Aware of best practices and new technologies relating to Engineering Principles and Processes
    • Computer Literacy: MS Office and SAP
    • Valid driver’s license
    • In possession or able to obtain a valid Certificate of Fitness

    Advantageous:

    • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
    • Proven experience in maintaining heavy equipment used in [mining, construction, or industrial applications]
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
    • Appropriate ERP (SAP or Equivalent) Qualifications
    • Recognized trade test

    Business Improvement Specialist, D1, NDC021/25GS

    Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

    • Implement the Business Improvement mandate at operation by facilitating initiatives/business case development and tracking BI improvement
    • Ensure conformance to governance and project sign-off by identifying project risks and effective management and tracking of projects and value delivery
    • Develop and implement communication and change strategy per initiative through facilitating BI communication at the operation and ensuring buy in and commitment on initiatives
    • Contribute to the Operational Team cohesion and effectiveness
    • Manage the control room and assist in compiling daily production

    Requirements:

    • Diploma / Degree in Engineering, Mining, Industrial Engineering or a related field
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Mining, Process or Maintenance Engineering field within the Mining industry, of which 3 years should preferably be in Coal Mining in a Supervisory role
    • Minimum of 3 years Business Improvement experience or a related field
    • Minimum of 3 years Project Management experience
    • Knowledge of the Mining industry and relevant legislation including the Mine Health and Safety Act
    • Good working knowledge of the Coal Mining Process for both Underground and Opencast
    • Abreast of best practices and new technologies
    • Knowledge of Business Process Re-engineering
    • Good knowledge of change management methodologies
    • Project Management Skills
    • Change Management Skills
    • Computer Skills – (MS Office Suite)
    • Valid driver’s license
