    Site Supervisor/Temple Facilities Manager

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for all construction liaison between contractors, the Project Manager, and the Area Temple Facilities Manager.
    • Responsible for all site supervision during the construction process
    • Responsible for the maintenance of the temple and ancillary buildings associated with the temple complex approximately 40k square feet (e.g., patron housing, visitor's center, temple president's residence, etc.)
    • Responsible for always maintaining established standards during peak usage and when the temple is closed.
    • Responsible for managing the expectations of approximately 1-2 key stakeholders.
    • Effective job knowledge, skill levels and performance of the Temple Facilities Services team by providing on-site and remote training, coaching, and mentoring.
    • Responsible for implementing temple maintenance guides and materials and testing improved maintenance methods, systems, and equipment.
    • Responsible for the creation and execution of the annual plan, by overseeing and/or managing project and operational costs, maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repair of electrical, mechanical, audio-visual, and computer systems.
    • Responsible for department labour costs (contract and employee) and third-party relationships.
    • Participates in all final close-out procedures for project(s) including as-built drawing, archiving, close-out process, letter of substantial completion, warranty process, and letter of recommendation.
    • Ensure project(s) are completed in conformance to design documents and standards requirements.
    • Communicates with Temple President and other Priesthood leaders, supervisors and department specialists, local governments, architects, general contractors, and local leaders as needed.
    • Provides regular status reports on project progress, quality, issues, and procurement of materials and equipment.
    • Regularly manage the work of other employees (may include mixed workforce).
    • Monitor project(s) scheduled to ensure completion is within approved timelines

    Qualifications

    • Four-year degree in facilities management, building industry, project management or a related field
    • Four years of experience in the facilities management industry or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
    • Total of eight years combined education and experience
    • Basic understanding of facilities systems and processes such as (boiler/chiller servicing & operations, electrical motor controls, audiovisual, electrical distribution, and plumbing systems)
    • Effective verbal and written communication and computer literacy.
    • Ability to speak and write in English Professional appearance and demeanor.
    • To successfully perform the essential functions of the job there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for long periods of time and using computer monitors/equipment.
    • Must be able to do some heavy lifting.

    Senior Mission Accountant (Engish Speaking)

    Responsibilities

    An Accountant, Senior performs the more complex accounting functions in a variety of different settings throughout the Church. In general, incumbents in this position perform the following types of functions:

    • Initiating general ledger file maintenance so that financial statement presentations will be accurate and meaningful.
    • Reconciling accounts, reviewing reconciliations, and make sure that all outstanding items are properly cleared.
    • Preparing special studies and reports for departments and organizations as required.
    • Preparing journal entries and other adjustments to correct errors.
    • Analyzing budget requests and explain any budgetary changes resulting from increased costs or changes in programs.
    • Consolidating accounting information for use in accounting statements and summaries.
    • Reviewing expenditures against budget and making necessary reconciliations, investigations, and correcting entries.
    • Assisting in preparing various financial estimates and expense reports.
    • Drafting correspondence to appropriate parties regarding any differences that require investigation or further action.
    • Reviewing and monitoring invoices submitted for payment which exceed certain dollar amounts as defined by policy.
    • Auditing project accounts for compliance to policy and corresponding with appropriate parties regarding the status of these projects.
    • Assisting in evaluating and motivating employees under the direction of a supervisor.
    • Coordinating accounting matters with other departments, locations, and divisions.
    • Acting as a resource for Accountant 1 and Accountant 2 incumbents being trained in Church accounting systems.
    • Provide training for Mission Financial Secretaries as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Must hold a current / valid Temple recommend
    • Bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) in Accounting, (or Finance or Business Management) is required. CMA, CA or MBA preferred. 
    • Incumbents must demonstrate a well-grounded knowledge of financial and accounting theory, and a knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles preferred.
    • A minimum of four to five years of professional accounting experience is required for this position. Familiarity with Church accounting systems is preferred. 
    • Should have the ability to analyse complex accounting problems and propose changes in the accounting system.

    Real Estate Project Manager 2

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities include the personal execution as well as the management of Church and contract professionals to identify, evaluate, acquire, dispose, manage, negotiate, lease, close, and otherwise conduct activities related to Church real estate interests

    • Manage projects and professional services providers (corporate services and other disciplines and support processes); prepare/review binding legal documents.
    • Provide technical real estate advice and be a resource for customers and priesthood leaders
    • Analyze, prepare and deliver presentations for approvals
    • Project management report meetings/administrative duties

    Real Estate Manager (REM) will establish the limits of REPM 2 responsibility based on:

    • transaction type, scope, and complexity
    • intermediate required negotiation expertise
    • church department or entity/customer (e.g. Missionary, Welfare, FRI, etc.)
    • medium potential impact/risk

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience in Real Estate-related fields.
    • Real estate-related Licensing/Certifications (e.g. broker, agent, property title, escrow, attorney, etc.), or equivalent certification in non-U.S. country.
    • Five (5) – seven (7) years of demonstrated expertise in real estate transactions, including site identification and analysis, negotiations, contracts, leases, site evaluations, appraisals, title reports, property closings and applicable governmental requirements.
    • Computer skills include advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite
