    Broker Consultant

    • Develop and maintain effective business relationships with brokers in order to attract develop and retain profitable business in the Northern Region (Limpopo, North West, Mpumalanga and Gauteng)
    • Effectively market Engineering related insurance products and services.
    • Interpret, explain and effectively market all products and services in collaboration with the centre of excellence.

    Key Responsibilities:


    • Underwriting/Risk Analysis: Analyze qualitative and quantitative data prepared by brokers to provide approval for risk selection and acceptance, coverage and price. Recommend creative alternatives in regards to rating plans, coverage and payment plans. Recommend or implement changes to improve productivity, profitability, growth and the quality of assigned book of business. Decline unsuitable risks. Ensure Reinsurance is in place where necessary.
    • Ensure that policy transactions (quotes, new business, endorsements, renewals, post loss, cancellations) are issued and changes recorded accurately and in a timely manner by rating and/or capturing transactions to the core business system.
    • Sales and Marketing: Sell Hollard products to brokers and/or agents using consultative selling techniques. Contribute to effective marketing of the Company products by answering questions, resolve problems on topics such as policy status, billing, etc, and explaining new or revised products and processes. Make presentations to brokers and/or agents.
    • Servicing is not limited to product training and new business sales, but includes the conversion of all policies onto TIA (agency applications) and Risk Services consultations
    • Account Management: Meet goals for volume and value of quality new business quoted and written within company guidelines. Recommend or implement changes to improve productivity, profitability, growth and the quality of assigned book of business. Service, grow and maintain renewal policies. Confirm rating and cover on endorsements requested. Review segment profit/growth results and trends to recommend and implement action plans to produce profitable underwriting results. Ensure that all premiums are received and up to date on all accounts in portfolio. In collaboration with credit control review and discuss all outstanding premiums and arrears with Brokers on a monthly basis.
    • Financial Management: Assist in forecasting, budgeting, budget attainment, cost management etc.
    • Operational Management: Assist in the general management of all aspects relating to operations within the division. Develop and maintain a Branch and broker visibility plan / visitation programme in conjunction with other stakeholders.

    Required Knowledge, Experience and Skills:


    • At least 5 years marketing experience in the trucking space
    • Good knowledge of trucking with at least 5 years' experience including:

      • Underwriting procedure
      • Relationship management skills (have the right approach with the right people)
      • Analysis and interpretation of data pertaining to assigned books, reports and market conditions
    • Ability to work overtime and attend functions to entertain brokers and/or agents, when needed

    Key Account Manager

    To actively maintain partner and client relationships and ensure that needs and challenges are resolved timeously with innovative solutions. This is done through engagement and collaboration at appropriate levels with partners and clients.

    Required Knowledge, Experience and Skills

    • Minimum 5 years relevant industry experience
    • The ability to compile marketing material is essential
    • Exposure to Data Warehousing of mission critical documents is essential
    • The abibilty to analyse and interpret statistical data is essentail

    Educational Requirements:

    • Matric/Grade 12/ or NQF level 4 equivalent
    • A three or four year relevant tertiary Degree or NQF Level 7

    Underwriter

    Underwriting Risk Management, ongoing Portfolio Quality Management, policy administration, servicing and retention of Construction & Engineering insurance clients whilst ensuring a balance between the company's underwriting policy and risk attitude and Risk & Insurance needs of clients in compliance with Financial Services Regulations.

    Key Responsibilities:


    • Evaluating Information on insurance proposals/quotations or policies to Determine Compliance with Company Policy and Risk Attitude
    • Processing risk and insurance Information and Performing Administrative Activities
    • Analyzing Risk/Claims Data or Information
    • Making Underwriting Decisions and Solving Risk Exposure Problems
    • Communicating and maintaining business relationships with Persons Outside Organization
    • Issuing New Policy Documents
    • Perform policy and Portfolio Management/ Administration Duties
    • Facilitate and Manage Renewal Process
    • Resolve queries and complaints, Work in teams and Generate reports
    • Updating and Using Relevant Knowledge
    • Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work
    • Resolving Conflicts and Negotiating with Others
    • Perform Policy Quality Assurance

    Required Knowledge, Experience and Skills:


    • At least 3 years Engineering experience
    • 5 years Corporate/Commercial Underwriting
    • Underwriting Servicing and Sales experience
    • Underwriting knowledge (ability to interpret policy wording, understanding how claims information impacts on underwriting)
    • Broker Service and Relationship Management experience
    • Product knowledge of Construction and Engineering insurance
    • MS Excel and Power Point
    • Business writing skills , Risk Analysis
    • Telephonic communication skills , Listening & Negotiation skills
    • Time management and Process Management

    Educational Requirements:


    • Matric
    • COP/FAIS short term insurance credits/Diploma/IISA
    • Knowledge and experience on fundamentals of Engineering Business, product knowledge, policy wordings, market pricing and reinsurance.
    • Diploma/ Degree or Certificate in Engineering; Legal/Law; Risk Management; Reinsurance; Advance Insurance with Engineering
