Minimum Qualifications / Experience

• Matric / Grade 12
• Preferably a qualification in Engineering/ a certified trade
• Experience in Production Operations with at least 5 years +
• Valid driver’s license and own transport
• Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
• Good knowledge and understanding of processes
• Must be a team player with natural leadership skills, and proven track record in doing things the “Afrimat Way”
• Good understanding of ash manufacturing process, parameters and requirements affecting productivity and quality
• Problem solving through fault-finding and troubleshooting
• Must be medically fit in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act and the Company standards for medical fitness

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):

• Ability to plan, direct, organize and control the production shift
• Ensure the site produces the right product in required quantity and quality
• Ability to monitor and implement actions according to the production outputs in line with the company KPI’s
• Supervise subordinates in line with company Safety and HR policies and procedures
• Pro-actively support and participate in safety, health, and environmental initiatives
• Ensure that proper discipline is maintained in line with company values and the Afrimat way
• Coordinate housekeeping and ensures that it is maintained to the required standard
• Manage priorities e.g. plant defects to minimize plant downtime, considering production requirements, implications and associated risks to the plant and employees
• Perform tasks such as: inspections, job cards, and 1 on 1 discussions with subordinates
• Ensure all site personnel have a strong customer focus

Minimum Qualifications / Experience

• Grade 12 is essential
• Electrical or Mechanical trade certificate (red seal)
• Minimum 5 years demonstrated Supervisory experience
• Supervisory certificate
• Maintenance Management Certificate
• Code EB Driver’s licence
• Experience with the maintenance and operation of chemical plants
• Legal/Operational compliance knowledge
• Medically fit in terms of Mine Health and Safety Act
• Must be able to work independently or in a team environment
• Computer literate – MS Office (excel, word, outlook, etc)
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• Maintenance and reliable operation of all assigned infrastructure, machinery and plants
• Managing and developing the Glenover Maintenance Team
• Coordinating maintenance activities and personnel
• Liaising with the Glenover Management Team
• Supplier Management & Liaison
• Operating & administering the Glenover Computerised Maintenance System
• Mentor apprentices
• Pro-actively support and participate in safety, health and environmental initiatives
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the workplace
• Manage and maintain tools
• Work overtime when required, provided such a requirement is reasonable and within the law
• Ensure safe work practices and compliance with all SHE and MHS legislation
• Maintain a well disciplined and productive working environment

Minimum Qualifications / Experience

• Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Red Seal Trade Test Certificate (Fitter and Turner).
• N2 certificate with fitting and turning qualification
• Valid driver’s license (code 10)
• 3 to 5 years stable working experience on process plants, preferably in aggregates crushing and screening
• Computer literate
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
• Fault finding and repair on mechanical, hydraulics and pneumatics
• Knowledge of and applicable skills in plant maintenance, repair and installation of equipment
• Stone crushers, screen and shaft impactor
• Aggregate crushing and screening processes

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):

• Meet with the Maintenance Foreman and Production staff to discuss maintenance/engineering breakdowns in the plant
• Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools as well as measuring instruments and reassemble equipment
• Must have a broad knowledge of Conveyer Belts, Gearboxes, Bearings, Pumps, Crushers (4.25 cone crushers, Sandvic cone crushers, Metso HP crushers, Telsmith cone crushers, Osborn 44H, Jaw crushers, VSI Crushers) and Screens
• Perform other maintenance actions, following checklists
• Assemble, install and/or repair, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery and equipment
• Executing daily planned task maintenance (PM maintenance scheduling and ensures all mechanical equipment operates to required OPP’s or overall plant performance)
• Identifying causes of mechanical dysfunction and repairing same using appropriate and cost-effective solutions
• Ensuring safe work practices and compliance with all safety, health and environmental (SHE) legislation specifically the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHS Act)
• Fine tuning plant maintenance and repair systems in conjunction with production and engineering staff to ensure optimal plant throughout whilst maintaining required level of plant safety
• Completion of all required paperwork and submission of all required reports
• Ensuring a good example of housekeeping, safety standards and leadership
