CRITICAL OUTPUTS

• Assisting the Medical Practitioner in the pre-screening, treatment and care of patients.
• Assist Medical Reception in the prioritizing of medical emergencies.
• Actively maintain stock management processes.
• Participate in monthly stock cycle counts.
• Maintain emergency trolley in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• When scheduled to work, act as the responsible person after hours to ensure smooth operations and escalate to the practice manager as and when required.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum: Grade 12.
• Diploma/Degree in nursing leading to qualification as Enrolled Nurse. 
• 2-3 years’ experience within a clinical environment a must.
• Computer proficiency (MS Office) essential.
• SANC Registration as an Enrolled Nurse.

• Certificate as Enrolled Nursing Assistant
• Registration with SANC
• Previous experience within a Sub-Acute/Rehabilitation environment
• Minimum 2 Years nursing experience.

• Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and organization of nursing areas.
• Handle basic patient queries related to services and escalate issues as necessary.
• Works within the realms of the scope of practice and knowledge base in relation to current trends and advances to maintain competency level.
• Takes personal accountability for decisions made and actions taken and/or omissions in the course of care delivery.
• Report concerns brought to his/her attention in order to provide safe nursing practices.
• Ensure documentation is in accordance with the policy and within the legal framework.
• Maintain patient confidentiality, dignity and safety at all times in compliance with POPIA.
• Ensure that the disposal of medical waste, human tissue and medicine is in accordance to legislation.
• Ensure the efficient functioning of equipment, or reporting of any equipment failure that could pose a potential risk to patients or staff.
• Actively maintain stock management processes.
• Ensure that the patient flow process is smooth, efficient and conducive to patient satisfaction.
• Attend to customer complaints and escalate where required to line manager.
• Ensure that protocols of professionals are adhered to at all times.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum Qualification: Matric / NQF 4 equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years in a nursing role; 3 years recommended.
• Registered with South African Nursing Council (SANC) as an ENA.
• Computer proficiency (MS Office).
• Willingness to work shifts and occasional overtime as required.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide efficient, friendly and professional telephone services in patient care.
• Assist patients in accurately completing appropriate forms, and document all information in accordance to internal policies and procedures.
• Responsible for all processes related to the reception-patient journey, e.g. booking, arrival and payment of patient on the relevant system.
• Direct all customers to the appropriate location, services and Professional.
• Ensure patient confidentiality at all times according to POPIA.
• Ensure that the reception area is always neat and tidy.
• Refer all emergency cases to the nurse’s station according to protocol.
• Assist patients with basic account queries and escalate as necessary.
• Collect all co-payments and account balances according to Intercare policies and procedures.
• Execute and adhere to daily cash-up and banking processes.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum qualification: Grade 12.
• Previous experience in a customer focused service environment, e.g. reception, will be advantageous.
• Computer proficient.
• GoodX system experience will be advantageous.
