    Junior Operator Raise Drilling - Brits

    Job description
    The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

    • Effectively supervise the daily tasks of the general workers allocated
    • Conduct safe and efficient underground excavations through the operation of a small Raise Bore machine to achieve production target
    • Cost containment through effective and safe use of raise bore drilling machines, adhere to OEM specifications
    • Follow lock out procedures
    • Participate in morning meetings and complete the relevant checklist, risk/safety documents as required
    • Effective stakeholders engagement to ensure smooth workflows
    • Proactive risk identification and mitigation, escalate and report
    • Self and team understand and comply with M&RC’s standards, policies, procedures and safety protocols
    • Effective self and team management and alignment with M&RC’s values and leadership initiatives 

    Minimum requirements
    Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

    • Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent
    • Certified as competent B
    • Certified competent as a Raise Drilling Operator
    • Valid Driver’s Licence
    • Good English communication skills (written and verbal)

    Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

    • At least 2 years of experience as a Learner Operator Raise Drilling in the mining industry
    • Ability to supervise a team and complete administrative requirements [reporting, checklists, safety documentation]
    • Understanding of a baseline risk assessment with ability to complete an issue based risk assessment independently

    Senior Contracts Administrator (Renewables) - Bedfordview

    Job description

    Key Performance Indicators:

    • Securing the Company’s commercial and financial position on the project.
    • Negotiating and drafting of all types of contracts.
    •  Assist with and manager relevant disputes.
    • Manage subcontractors and main contracts with the client.
    • Functional and management reporting (risk registers etc.)
    • Commercial compliance with all Company policies and procedures.
    • Relationship, subcontractor and information management.
    • Identification and conversion where applicable of all contract and subcontract risks and opportunities.
    • Monthly project and cost report responsibilities.  

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Preparation of management reports regarding contractual issues and project risks;
    • Ensuring that all Client Correspondence are adequately responded to and letters are issued to Client regarding all project related contractual issues;
    • Advise management and project team on legal and contractual issues pertaining to the project/s;
    • Execute forensic investigation of contractual issues;
    • Liaising with the Client/Subcontractors and the site team to identify and handle contractual and legal issues;
    • Assist Functional Manager to liaise with external legal advisors;
    • Draft contractual correspondence and notices;
    • Maintain contractual entitlements and claims opportunities;
    • Assist with and manage disputes’;
    • Ensure relevant insurance matters are attended to and claims are processed;

    Minimum requirements

    Experience:

    • Graduate with 5 years experience in contract administration;
    • Exposure to Renewables energy sector advantageous.
    • Understanding contract law in general.
    • Experience in handling large projects.
    • Be proficient in computers, ideally with a working knowledge of CCS & JDE systems.

    Qualifications:

    • Law degree or relevant commercial degree.
