    Rail Systems - Senior Designer


    Job description

    We are looking to build a key group of engineering designers which will be focused on the delivery of projects in a digital innovative environment for the off shoring office in Tshwane.

    We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are willing to learn and develop in this creative space

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
    • 5+ years’ experience in an Electrical OHTE Design and Drafting

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Designing of railway Overhead Traction Equipment (OHTE).
    • Main line track and yard OHTE designs
    • Both 1.5kV DC, 3kV DC and 25kV AC electrical traction supplies
    • Interfacing with the Civil, Signal and Electrical substation disciplines.
    • Management, Training, guidance of CAD drafters in detail OIHTE design
    • Review of drawings produced by drafters

    Key Performance Measures:

    • Ability to travel
    • Willingness to travel within South Africa and to Australia and New Zealand.
    • Willingness to be trained abroad on the local norms, standards and work procedures
    • MicroStation (Bentley) proficient.
    • Technical minded.
    • Understand electrical and mechanical track side engineering problems
    • Should be comfortable working in a multidisciplinary team, requiring coordination with discipline interfaces
    • Willingness to learn new skills and develop new competencies
    • Willingness to train staff in detailed OHTE design
    • Give support in engineering concept design for OHTE network planning
    • Preference for any staff who have previously worked on OHTE design.

    Senior Project Civil/Strucural Engineer

    Job description

    Aurecon’s Tshwane Resources and Manufacturing Unit is currently looking to recruit a Senior/Lead Civil Structural Engineer to manage teams, mentor staff and lead industrial projects. In addition the incumbent is required to perform Design Quality Assurance for multiple projects, as independent checker or verifier. The role will require international travel to Australia for projects, primarily in the Materials Handling space.

    Qualification:

    • B Eng./B Tech degree (Civil Engineering)
    • Professionally Registered
    • 8 years' experience minimum.
    • Design and project lead experience
    • Previous experience in mining, petrochemical or Heavy Industrial background desirable; alternatively a proven track record in project delivery involving multidisciplinary engineering tasks and interfaces

    • Strong work winning , client facing capability and experience, strong existing client network base
    • Confident, well-spoken, self-starter, disciplined, detail and deadline / delivery orientated.

    Job description

    • Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering and relevant drafting experience.
    • 2+ years’ experience in a Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Drafting role.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Drafting of railway Overhead Traction Equipment (OHTE) infrastructure.
    • Provide drafting support in engineering concept design.
    • Overhead Traction Equipment (OHTE) drafting.
    • Mainline track and yard OHTE drafting.
    • General Rail Systems drafting under the guidance of the rail systems engineer.
