Job description

We are looking to build a key group of engineering Drafters which will be focused on the delivery of projects in a digital innovative environment for the offshoring office in Tswane.

We are looking for young and enthusiastic individuals who are willing to learn and develop in this creative space

Qualifications and Experience:

• Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering and relevant drafting experience.
• 2+ years’ experience in a Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Drafting role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drafting of railway Overhead Traction Equipment (OHTE) infrastructure.
• Provide drafting support in engineering concept design.
• Overhead Traction Equipment (OHTE) drafting.
• Mainline track and yard OHTE drafting.
• General Rail Systems drafting under the guidance of the rail systems engineer.

Key Performance Measures:

• Ability to travel.
• Willing to travel within South Africa and to Australia / New Zealand.
• MicroStation (Bently) proficient.
• Technical minded.
• Should be comfortable working in a multidisciplinary team, requiring coordination between discipline interfaces.
• Preference will be given to Electrical/Mechanical Drafters willing to be trained as Overhead Traction Equipment (OHTE) Drafter.
• Willingness to learn new skills and develop new competencies.
• Ability to do and understand “as built” drafting.
• Preference for any staff who have previously worked on OHTE.
• Good interpersonal skills.

• Experienced with drafting software packages (AutoCAD, MicroStations) with preference to MicroStation.
• Willingness to learn other design software package (e.g. Revit – Mechanical/Electrical and Piping (MEP)).
• Experience or a willingness to learn other software packages such as ProjectWise.
