    Road Freight Ops Manager – Domestic and Cross border

    In this Road Freight Ops Manager – Domestic and Cross border position

    • You will coordinate development and implementation of the Saloodo! operations strategy and plans leveraging our unique digital Saloodo! platform.
    • You will ensure that Saloodo! provides a consistent customer experience to carriers and shippers – considering local requirements as needed.
    • You will identify new opportunities to grow and expand the customer base, actively engaging with customers to develop our business.
    • You will monitor the day-to-day operations of the team to provide smooth logistics operations.
    • You will supervise and resolve issues in the delivery of activities to ensure smooth operational flow.
    • You will ensure planning and management of human resources, materials, and logistics infrastructure to deliver logistics services to our clients.
    • You will support other team members by supervising operations and providing backup for absence/peaks in operational activities.
    • You will conduct regular reviews with carriers on operational performance and delivery against the agreed performance objectives.
    • You will analyze daily, weekly, and monthly development of key KPIs.
    • You will support business development/account management on contractual/commercial issues and customer/carrier renewal planning.
    • You will identify and propose opportunities to grow business with and retain the existing customer base, and support development and execution of the customer business plan.
    • You will communicate policies and ensure compliance with company/local statutory obligations and legislation related to safety, health, security, environment, and quality.
    • You will detect issues, identify opportunities, and implement practices focusing on delivering improvement and enhanced productivity.
    • You will actively manage key stakeholders on various levels – Country Management, regional management, own team, shippers, and carriers to drive the success of the Saloodo! platform.
    • You will manage country teams who perform day-to-day responsibilities such as customer service, incident management, or carrier review meetings.
    • You will establish regular carrier meetings and ensure that these are conducted for all key carriers.
    • You will oversee, develop, and manage all road freight operations.

    Key Account Manager- Technology Sector Lead

    In this Key Account Manager- Technology Sector Lead position

    • You will manage the relationship of a defined number of CSI/MNC and SC customers and prospects in the Technology sector, serving as the primary contact for the customer and coordinating the account with regards to Trade Lane involvement.
    • You will seek and prospect for Strategic Customer targets to win new customers in the Technology sector.
    • You will ensure that Key Account activities are aligned with the global/regional Technology sector strategy.
    • You will deliver the regional and country customer budget by maintaining a healthy pipeline, good contractual performance, and proactive thinking.
    • You will work on regional customer initiatives and implement global business plan contents for the Technology sector.
    • You will collect relevant customer information for the RFI/RFP/RFQ and prepare documents for customer implementation to ensure proper operational handover and implementation to meet customer expectations (SLA's & SOP's).
    • You will coordinate with Program Managers on account planning, customer enquiries, and business reviews.
    • You will consult regional/global sector Heads on potential solutions and best practices in relation to the Technology sector.
    • You will maintain knowledge and awareness of competing products/services, discount, and pricing structures in the Technology sector, and how best to service and motivate key accounts to stay with the business.
    • You will ensure that profitable sales volume and strategic objective targets are met through assessing, clarifying, and validating consumers’ needs on an ongoing basis.
    • You will lead solution development for the identified improvement areas, coordinating the involvement of any relevant business personnel, and develop and maintain strong existing customer relations and loyalty through ensuring customer satisfaction.
    • You will take part in the strategic account planning process in which departmental financial targets, performance objectives, account management standards, and critical milestones over specific periods of time are decided upon.
    • You will review target achievement and create reports for senior management.
    • You will respond to customer enquiries/complaints.
    • You will conduct high-quality presentations of the entire range of standardized products to customers.
    • You will develop target lists of new business within the existing portfolio and continuously review and update the pipeline.
    • You will negotiate with Technology customers on contractual terms of service provision that are aligned with corporate sales policy and procedures.
    • You will adhere to approved credit limits granted to customers and enforce previously agreed payment terms.
    • You will prepare and realize planned sales calls, reporting activities, quotes, sales calls, and other information through the customer database system, i.e., Sales360.
    • You will maintain Sales360 record keeping and estimate preparation and follow-ups.
    • You will constantly improve your professional skills by attaining relevant certifications.

    Now, here’s what we need from you.

    • Good understanding of the Technology sector in the forwarding industry.
    • Experience with customers
    • Ability to identify customer needs by gathering information and building long term relationships.

    Service Quality Manager Southern Africa

    Key Responsibilities

    Operations Process

    • Analyse, report and communicate country service and cost performance against Regional and Country standards, targets and key performance indicators.
    • Define and drive forward country service and cost performance improvement activities and plans in line with Country and Regional imperatives
    • Identify, initiate and drive operational performance improvement actions with local operations entities and other countries to improve the country’s inbound and outbound performance
    • Support within the country, service improvement analysis and action initiated by the region or other countries
    • Deliver new and enhanced processes to the evolving business needs
    • Manage the operations processes on a daily basis, resolving issues and initiating corrective action where appropriate using Global SOP gap analysis
    • Develop and deliver improvement initiatives at facility level to achieve facility health card performance KPI’s
    • Plan and implement regional / country operations processes and procedures at facility level
    • Manage and participate in cross functional project teams as required.(First Choice, DVRA, INSIGHT etc)

    Management of outstations operations

    • Operations Training Deployment
    • Manage the training requirements within operations focusing on performance improvement initiatives
    • Maintain and improve skill set of operations staff
    • Work closely with OC skills training Administrator in the deployment of training initiatives for operations
    • Provide and deliver Global SOP, process and system training to continually improve service performance

    Operations Systems

    • Manage the provision, input and maintenance of country service information to the ESD/GREF and other DHL information and data repositories to meet network requirement
    • Liaise with IT with regards to the optimal running of the operations IT systemsManage the operations systems on a daily basis, resolving issues and initiating corrective action where appropriate, and managing the dependencies and interfaces between systems
    • Support the implementation of operations systems - new systems and systems upgrades
    • Plan and implement local operations systems projects with zero service impact

    GLOBAL SOP

    • Conduct Global SOP audit both at country and SSA levels and initiate follow-up actions to ensure that identified audit gaps are closed out.
    • Acts as Global SOP contact for Southern Africa as well as coordinate Global SOP audits in Southern Africa
    • Provide feedback and implement improvement initiatives to maintain Global SOP accreditation
    • Communicate with operations teams the best demonstrated practises
    • Manage CRISP in the Zone

    Minimum Requirements

    Education & experience

    • University Degree or its equivalent
    • Minimum of 5 years DHL operational experience
    • Minimum of 3 years managerial experience
    • Experience in procedures and documentation auditing
