Job Description

• Development of personal care and home care products for key customers
• Formulations writing, Research & Development, Troubleshooting, sample preparation
• Testing: Stability testing and application/performance testing
• Run day-to-day operations of personal care/home care application/testing laboratory
• Calibrations, housekeeping, laboratory sample organization
• Provide technical support to consumer specialty sales team (and their customers) – (Should be willing to travel, as customers might be another province or country)

Qualifications & Experience

• Post Graduate Honours Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Chemistry or Formulation science preferred
• COSCHEM Diploma would be beneficial
• Experience in general laboratory organisation and management is essential.
• Personal Care (cosmetics)/Home Care formulatory experience preferred (3-4 years)
• Vital to be proficient in Microsoft Office package: Word, Excel, Outlook

Job Description

• Lead and facilitate multi-disciplinary workshops with respect to implementation of Process Safety Elements
• Develop and implement controls
• Monitor workplace compliance against process safety elements
• Follow up on all outstanding findings to ensure gaps closure
• Conduct process safety incident investigations, root cause analysis and facilitation of learning
• Process Safety performance monitoring through leading and lagging indicators
• Co-ordinating and facilitating training on aspects related to process safety
• Monitor compliance to statutory and other legal requirements (e.g.: MHI, PER)
• Support to Projects, Engineering and Process Plants on planned improvement projects
• Relevant risk studies to adequately assess process safety risks

Qualifications & Experience

• 4 year Degree (Chemical Engineering/ BTech or equivalent)
• Minimum of 5 Years in a Chemical Operating environment/ PSM
• Recognized Qualification in Process Management (Fundamentals of PSM – IChemE)
• ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa) registration as appropriate (with required CPD - advantage)

Job Description

• Operate the Sulphonation plant in accordance to the operating Work Instructions
• Produce products within the laid down specifications, as given by the operating Work Instructions and Production Packages
• Ensure that all operating procedures are carried out correctly according to the operating Work Instructions and Production Packages
• Sample product and intermediate according to the given procedure at the given time interval or more frequently if necessary
• Take the necessary corrective actions if the tests show an out of specification situation, as laid down in the operating Work Instructions
• Monitor and record plant operating conditions according to the given procedures at the given time interval or more frequently if necessary
• Take corrective action if plant operating conditions are outside the limits specified in the plant Work Instructions
• Write up records timeously according to the plant Work Instructions
• Load and off- load road tankers according the loading and off-loading of tankers work instructions
• Operate the Sulphonation plant in accordance to the operating Work Instructions

Qualifications & Experience

• Matric / Grade 12

• Organizing and performing (analytical inspection & testing) the necessary procedures on packaging materials, raw materials, ingredients, in-process batches and final products,  recording the results and advising adjustments/status when applicable/necessary

Qualifications & Experience

• BTech Diploma/Degree in Food Technology 
• Minimum 2-5 years’ relevant work experience within the food and beverage industry 
• Knowledge of basic analytical test methods 
• Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Food 
• Safety (e.g. HACCP) and Quality (e.g. ISO 9001) Management Systems will be beneficial
