    Children Care Officer (Programme Coordinator)

    Minimum Requirements: 

    • Grade 12 / NQF level 4 plus Bachelor of Education (ECD: Foundation Phase will be an added advantage (NQF level 7); 
    • 1 - 3 years working experience in the development and implementation of programmes for children between 0 - 18 years of age. This should include working alongside teachers / ECD practitioners as well as NGO organisations in the implementation of programmes for children. The programmes should have an educational, as well as a life skills element; 
    • Basic knowledge of Children’s Services programmes mainstreaming; 
    • Early Childhood Development forums relations management; 
    • Must have a valid driver’s license.  

    Primary Function:

    • Facilitate planning, implement monitoring and evaluating the Children services: Social Development programmes / projects within the community, and disseminate information, advise the community on Children’s Services Developmental and support programmes. 

    Key Performance Areas: 

    • Execute and oversee all administrative processes and actions. 
    • Execute, coordinate and provide support in terms of rolling out and running of programmes and projects. 
    • Facilitate, execute and coordinate educational training programmes and initiatives. 
    • Liaise and communicate with all relevant service providers and stakeholders. 
    • Investigate, assess and refer complaints. 
    • Monitor, Evaluation and Stakeholder Management.

    Curator: Geology

    Minimum Requirements: 

    • Matric/Grade 12 plus a Degree in Geology, Museum Studies, Heritage Studies, or Curatorial Studies at NQF level 7; 
    • 2 – 5 years’ experience working as a Curator in a museum or gallery. 

    Primary Function:

    • Responsible for managing and preserving the geological collection and ensuring they are accessible for research, education, and public exhibition. 

    Key Performance Areas: 

    • Collect geological specimens to reflect Southern African heritage and mining technologies; 
    • Document new items added to the Geology Collection collections; 
    • Conduct research to enhance the geological collections’ relevance, completeness, and accessibility; 
    • Preserve and conserve the collection; 
    • Manage enquiries about the collection; 
    • Lead the development and delivery of exhibitions and public engagement initiatives to increase public understanding and appreciation of geology; 
    • Administer loans of museum items to other institutions, locally and internationally; 
    • Contribute to the development of the Team’s tactical planning process; 
    • Lead the Team’s operational planning process; 
    • Lead the Team’s financial planning and budgeting processes; 
    • Provide input to the Subsection’s budgeting process; 
    • Lead and facilitate the Team’s Demand Planning process; 
    • Lead and facilitate the Team’s Performance Management planning process; 
    • Lead and manage the development of the Tea’s Personal Development Plans (PDPs) process; 
    • Ensure effective and efficient processes, procedures, systems and policies; 
    • Leading the Recruitment, Selection and Placement process for sourcing of suitably qualified staff for the Directorate; 
    • Ensure effective and efficient Procurement Management in line with Supply Chain Management processes, legislative, regulatory and policy framework; 
    • Provide sound leadership for the achievement of the Directorate’s objective; 
    • Ensure effective control of the Team; 
    • Ensure effective Directorate Assets Management and Control; 
    • Implement good governance and effective risk management systems; 
    • Manage stakeholder relations to strengthen institutional partnerships, visibility, and support for geological initiatives; 
    • Ensure effective management of specific reporting requirements associated with the Team and individual performance.
