    Desktop Technician ICT Applications, Infrastructures And Operations Department (Pretoria)

    Purpose of the Job:

    • To provide first point of contact for IT services and assist clients with hardware and software related technical issues and to provide on-site or remote IT technical assistance including troubleshooting of IT issues. The person appointed to this position will report to the Infrastructure Manager.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Manage the FSCA ICT service desk function as an entry point or single point of contact (SPOC) for business users.
    • Respond to calls on ICT Call Centre telephone system.
    • Log, categorise, prioritise and route service tickets on the ICT incident management platform.
    • Respond to incidents and service requests and ensure that they are successfully finalised and update stakeholders accordingly. 
    • Identify, analyse, troubleshoot and resolve computer problem affecting user’s ability to perform business functions. 
    • Install, configure, modify and delete user settings according to the FSCA operating standards on new and existing user computers.
    • Setup and configure application clients on new and existing user computers.
    • Monitor application processes and availability.
    • Create new user and computer profiles and retire old users and computer profiles from the user computers.
    • Escalate application related queries to other ICT departments whilst adhering to approved governance frameworks.
    • Manage, maintain and support of the audio-visual equipment in the boardroom and all collaboration solutions.
    • Provide management of the FSCA printer services in the FSCA environment.
    • Install and configure security end point protection and mail encryption solution and ensure that they are always set up as per the FSCA’s policies and principles.
    • Liaise with external vendors to resolve incidences and problems whilst observing governance.
    • Participating in team meetings, team discussions and workshops.
    • Undertake research to investigate improvement of service support to the FSCA

    Other Key Competencies:

    • The candidate must demonstrate the following skills and attributes: Proven work experience as a Desktop Support Engineer, Technical Support Engineer, or similar role. Hands-on experience with Windows or Linux or Mac OS environments. Working knowledge of office automation products and computer peripherals, like printers and scanners. Knowledge of network security practices and anti-virus programs. Ability to perform remote troubleshooting and provide clear instructions. Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills. Customer-oriented attitude.

    Requirements

    • A National Diploma in IT or Computer Systems or equivalent. A+ or N+ITIL Foundation certification. Minimum 1-2 years of Desktop Support Experience.

    Infrastructure Engineer Information Communication And Technology (Pretoria)

    Purpose of the Job:

    • Design, build, deploy, and maintain the IT infrastructure using available and latest technology. Ensure availability and optimal performance of all the IT systems that support businesses to function efficiently. The person appointed to this position will report to the Infrastructure Manager.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Respond to incidents, service requests and change requests to ensure finalisation.
    • Identify, analyse, troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure problems affecting user’s ability to perform.
    • Manage ICT related datacentre infrastructures.
    • Install, configure, maintain, support and upgrade server hardware, storage hardware, tape libraries and other hardware in the datacentre environment and any other current or future infrastructure.
    • Manage, design, plan and support physical and virtual environments including Azure tenants for best performance.
    • Create scalable virtual machines, implement storage solutions, configuration of virtual networking, back up and share data, that connect to the Microsoft Azure and on-premises sites.
    • Manage network traffic, implement Microsoft Azure Active Directory, secure identities, and monitor the services.
    • Install, configure, maintain, support and upgrade of Microsoft server base operating systems.
    • Manage and deploy patch levels on software and roll ups of all firmware on hardware.
    • Install, configure, maintain, support and upgrade of Microsoft server base operating system including Active Directory and other platforms such as Linux that is used in the production, non-production (development and user acceptance testing), testing lab and disaster recovery environments.
    • Install, configure, maintain, support and upgrade file management platform (File server), Microsoft OneDrive and any other platforms.
    • Install, configure, maintain, support and upgrade of all communications and collaborations solutions.
    • Install, configure, maintain, support and upgrade of all communications and collaborations solutions such as Microsoft Exchange server 2016/19 and online, Microsoft Skype for Business, Teams, audio visual platforms and any other platforms that might be introduced in the environment in future. The platforms are used in the production, non-production and disaster recovery environments.
    • Manage Microsoft Azure subscriptions and tenant including Microsoft Office365, OneDrive, SharePoint online and any other products.
    • Manage and facilitate any third line support calls with the relevant suppliers until resolution.
    • Provide ICT disaster recovery services at the disaster recovery site.
    • Develop solutions, implement projects, and set up monitoring systems using cloud-based computing services such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, etc.
    • Provide best practice guidance and expert technical architectural support for solutions that involve cloud services and cloud infrastructure/platform hosting management, and cloud security, including integration with other 3rd party products.
    • Perform daily health checks on the production environments.
    • Configure, optimise, integrate and automate alerts, events, management and reporting tools for the management of the ITSM and monitoring services.
    • Build, deploy, and manage enterprise system technologies.
    • Develop and maintain SOP documentation and low-level configuration.
    • Create remediation plans for all system deployment and modifications and document them.
    • Liaise with external vendors to resolve incidences and problems whilst observing governance. 
    • Coordinates with other Information Technology areas to resolve problems.

    Other Key Competencies:

    • The candidate must demonstrate the following skills and attributes: Exceptional applied knowledge to manage, maintain, support, and upgrade: Infrastructure hardware, systems (Microsoft Windows operating system, Linux and other products), storage management, backup and archive, LAN and WAN network and telecommunication (VOIP), communication and collaboration platforms, Microsoft System Center, F5 Equipment, Datacentre facilities, Disaster Recovery (DR) services. Familiar with cloud solutions, virtualization software, Remain up to date with latest industry trends. ability to articulate trends clearly and confidently, good interpersonal skills and communication across all levels, ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently, ability to comfortably work under pressure, keen attention to detail, problem-solving abilities and solid knowledge base.

    Requirements

    • A National Diploma in IT or Computer Systems or equivalent. A+ or N+ and MCSE or MCITP. Any other related course that could relate to VMWare (VCP), or Hyper-V. ITIL Foundation certification. Minimum 5 years of experience in maintaining and supporting the infrastructure systems and data center environment. Expert applied knowledge to manage and support of Microsoft server base operating system including Active Directory, Microsoft Azure Cloud, Microsoft Exchange server 2016/19 and Exchange online environment.
