    Finance Coordinator

    Purpose of Position

    • Relates to the organization's processes, procedures, controls and records for conduct and management of all aspects of financial transactions, events, and situations around the Requisition-to-Pay process.
    • Under close supervision, assists in performing established, basic accounting and operational activities
    • Ensures compliance to company Accounting Policies and Generally Accepted Accounting Practice (GAAP) by implementing, documenting and monitoring adherence to the recommended procedures and controls. 

    Major Responsibilities

    • Provides support to senior colleagues for day-to-day operational processes, providing support for basic inquiries, issues, and requests
    • Assists in achieving and maintaining compliance with policies, procedures, standards, and statutory law
    • May assist in compiling data and performing high-level analysis
    • Assists with ad hoc requests and routine operational activities
    • Accounts Payable – consistent coding and submission of supplier invoices to Shared Service Centre for processing, and resolution of invoice processing issues in a timely manner.
    • Assists in monitoring on-time payment of vendors
    • Monthly accrual of unprocessed liabilities.
    • Helps ensures compliance to South African Foreign Exchange Control Regulations by assisting with the regular maintenance of Import and Export Registers.
    • Ensuring compliance to all VAT regulations.
    • Support Finance team in ongoing management of General Ledger. Act as Primary back-up for Financial Accountant and Cost Accountant when applicable.
    • Assists in liaison between the company, it’s suppliers, and the company Shared Service Centre Requisition-to-Pay
    • Assists the Finance DARM Administrator with Document Archiving and Record Management.

    • All financial and other data, inclusive of Payroll, Receivables and Cashflow.

    Experiences/Education - Required

    • Post-matric Diploma in Financial field
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles
    • Delivers accurate work
    • Ability to carry out a variety of routine and ad hoc requests
    • Experience in developing relationships within assigned area
    • Ability to quickly gains familiarity with company internal resources and tools
    • Exposure to basic issue resolution and the escalation process
    • Exposure to participating on projects
