    Courier (Permanent position)

    Job Summary

    • To provide a safe and timeous collection and delivery of goods and shuttle services as well as provide excellent customer service at all times.

     Requirements

    • Grade 12 or relevant NQF level 4 qualification preferable
    • Appropriate Drivers Licence
    • Grade 10 or a minimum of 10 years courier experience
    •  Grade 10 with 2-3 years relevant working experience or minimum 10 years courier experience

     Responsibilities

    • Checks moxes and tasks for delivery and collections that need to be done in order to plan a collections and delivery route.
    • Conducts delivery and collection of specimens from outlying laboratories, supporting doctors and clients to ensure that specimens, reports and other goods arrive at correct destinations timeously and in good condition to increase customer service levels.
    • Completes and signs proof of delivery for specimens or reports collected or delivered to endure records are kept for tracking purposes if and when applicable.
    • Scans specimens and results on the Courier Management Programme to ensure that all deliveries and collections can be tracked and traced.
    • Maintain daily safe keeping and fault reporting on Lancet’s assets (such as vehicles, petrol cards, uniforms etc) and equipment to ensure that they remain in good condition to provide excellent collection and delivery of goods and shuttle services.
    • Utilises protective wear (such as specimen bags, gloves, eye specs etc) to ensure own safety and adherence to the Health and safety regulations policy.
    • Completes incident and accident reports and submits to Management to ensure that insurance claims are processed timeously and all damages are repaired.
    • Maintains cleanliness of Lancet vehicles also reporting any spills of hazardous materials to management and ensure safe working conditions as per Quality Assurance Standards.

    Phlebotomist (Permanent position)

    Job Summary

    • Collects blood and other specimens for clinical analysis, evaluation and/ or diagnostic purposes

    Requirements

    • Registration in relevant discipline with HPCSA/ SANC
    • 0-2 Yrs Relevant Working Experience

    Relevant Job Knowledge 

    • Anatomy, physiology and medical terminology relevant to medical pathology

    Responsibilities

    • Ensures that patients/ clients from whom a blood or other specimen (e.g. body fluids, tissue and excretion) is to be taken, are correctly identified and educated about the actual procedure and their rights, in compliance with relevant standard operating procedures and in accordance with scope of practice.
    • Draws blood and collects non-blood specimens from patients/ clients at various locations, using the correct and sterile equipment in a manner that will yield the best results. This may include the use of Point of Care (POC) biomedical instrumentation systems and rapid testing kits for pathology.
    • Observes the physical condition of patients during blood taking and applies sound first aid practices in order to ensure the safety and comfort of patients/ clients.
    • Ensures that bio-hazardous waste is disposed of in the correct manner to comply with relevant safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
    • Keeps records of specimens collected and ensures that all patient details and clinical information is accurately recorded.
    • Ensures dispatching of specimens for processing in accordance with prescribed standard operating procedures and monitors progress and filing of reports, including handling queries and report delivery, in line with prescribed turn around requirements.
    • Monitors stock levels of all collection materials, including venesection ³bleeding´bags, and orders additional stock to ensure the availability of required materials at all times.
    • Implements sound housekeeping procedures and work effectively with others as a member of a team to ensure a safe working environment in accordance with relevant legislation and all safety protocols. This includes the on-going maintenance of quality control standards, adherence to infection control measures and participation (as per delegated responsibilities) in the preparation process for internal and external quality control audits
    • Represents the organisation by applying the principles of customer care in the medical pathology field and interacts professionally and ethically with patients, clients, doctors and other hospital staff.
    • Assists pathologists with special procedures (e.g. bone marrows, fine needle aspirates, sweat tests, pap smears, etc.) when required and in compliance with relevant working instructions and standard operating procedures.
    • Uses knowledge of HIV and AIDS to provide pre-test information and support where relevant.
    • Receiving cash from patients and ensuring banking of monies in accordance with relevant standard operating procedures.
    • Reports incidents, logs customer complaints and problem solution, reads documents and actions tasks on the laboratory information management system in compliance with relevant organisational policy.

    Payroll Administrator (Permanent position)

    Job Summary

    • The timely and accurate delivery of payroll and related client service to Lancet employees, including recordkeeping and reporting.

     Requirements

    • Grade 12 or relevant NQF level 4 qualification
    • Payroll certificate/diploma advantageous
    • 2-3 Yrs Relevant Working Experience
    • Experience on Sage 300 People Payroll System

    Relevant Job Knowledge

     Job Requirements

    • Receives and captures input to ensure that lawful and accurate deductions and payments are made to employees.
    • Captures new appointments, promotions, terminations, other remuneration benefits, and garnishee orders in accordance with standard operating procedures to ensure that all transactions are up to date before the close of payroll for a particular processing period.
    • Completing and distribution of UIF documents
    • Distribution of IRP5s to terminated employees
    • Arranging departmental meetings and managing minutes
    • Handling of all AX / D365 tasks
    • Running/distribution of departmental timesheet (DHR clock-in web reports system)
    • Balancing and Reconciling of Medical aid/Provident Fund and other 3rd party Schedules.
    • Run, balance and reconcile adhoc Deduction Schedules.
    • Distribution of month-end reports
    • Performs full payroll functions (capturing, reconciling and balancing) on the smaller payroll entities.
    • Handles payroll related queries telephonically, via e-mail and HR system (e.g. reprints of payslips, personal detail changes, maternity leave matters, bank detail changes, salary deductions, garnishees and medical aid queries) to resolve queries effectively whilst complying with the corporate POPIA protocol and policy and within the agreed turnaround times to ensure correctness of employee information on the payroll.
