    Sales Rep

    Purpose of the role:

    Stores Administrator

    • As a Stores Administrator, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the storage, organization, and distribution of goods within a warehouse or store environment. You will also ensure smooth inventory management and operational efficiency.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Loading and offloading materials for dispatch/receipt between Stores
    • Receive, check and process incoming materials for correctness as per delivery note and purchase order
    • Immediately notify the Store Supervisor regarding discrepancies in materials receipt if any
    • Segregate discrepant materials, so as to be returned to the supplier for replacement

    In-House Legal Counsel - Advocate of the High Court

    Purpose of the role:

    • To provide expert in-house legal support to the organisation by managing litigation matters, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, and advising on a wide range of legal and regulatory issues. The role ensures that the company’s operations are legally compliant, risks are minimised, and strategic objectives are supported through sound legal guidance.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Litigation & Dispute Resolution:

    • Manage and oversee litigation matters, including High Court cases, labour disputes, and regulatory actions.
    • Prepare and review legal pleadings, affidavits, and related documents.
    • Represent the company in legal proceedings where appropriate.
    • Provide legal opinions and strategic input on litigation risk and potential outcomes.

     Contract Drafting & Oversight:

    •  Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including supply, procurement, service, sales, and confidentiality contracts.
    •  Ensure all contracts are legally sound, aligned with business strategy, and comply with company policies.
    •  Advise operational teams on contract interpretation, risks, and implementation.
    •  Maintain standard contract templates and update them in line with legislative and business changes. 

    Legal Advisory & Compliance:

    • Provide practical legal advice to business units on issues relating to commercial law, mining law, labour, regulatory compliance, and environmental law.
    • Monitor legislative developments relevant to the mining and manufacturing industry and communicate implications to the business.
    • Assist with drafting and implementing internal legal policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks.
    • Support internal investigations and audits from a legal perspective.

    Risk Management & Governance:

    • Identify legal risks in business operations and recommend mitigation strategies.
    • Contribute to good corporate governance and ensure the organisation adheres to statutory and regulatory requirements.
    • Provide legal input into strategic and operational decision-making processes.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • LLB degree (LLM advantageous).
    • Admitted Advocate of the High Court of South Africa.
    • Minimum 5 years post-admission experience in litigation and commercial legal work.
    • Prior legal experience within mining, manufacturing, or a similar heavy industry is preferred.
    • Demonstrated ability to handle High Court litigation and complex contractual matters.

    Health, Safety and Environmental Officer

    Purpose of the role:
    To provide support in the following:

    • Maintenance of the health, safety, and environment at the facility,
    • Daily/weekly/monthly monitoring and reporting of HSE,
    • Managing the ISO Management systems – i.e., 14001 and 45001

    Key Responsibilities:
    Health & Safety:

    • Compliance with all Environmental, health, and safety guidelines and procedures.

    Key Tasks

    • Health, safety, and environmental reporting, including safety findings, incidents, near misses, housekeeping, PPE, and weekly summary.
    • Assist & conduct the following types of audits: Statutory quarterly reporting, departmental HSE Files, contractor safety files,
    • Attend daily meetings, review meetings with HSE Manager,
    • Conduct follow-up audits to verify the effectiveness of corrective actions
    • Conduct risk assessments and participate in FMEA reviews
    • Promote SHE awareness & undertake training with relevant personnel

    • Work according to Integrated (Environmental, Health and Safety) Management System requirements.
    • Work according to Instructions / Procedures as pertaining to his/her operation function as assigned and abide by all legal (laws/by-laws) requirements / Company Policies and Practices
    • Housekeeping management and monitoring
    • Assisting and undertaking training of staff (inductions, SWP’s, toolbox talks, safety conversations).
    • Address environmental incidents and ensure compliance with the site specific EMPr.
    • Arrange for collections and deliveries (example waste, environmental sampling equipment).
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including but not limited to OSHA, GSR, NEMA, NEMAQA, NEMWA.

    Other:

    • Perform any other related duties in the interest of CEMZA as instructed.
    • Work according to Integrated (Environmental and Quality) Management System requirements.
    • Work according to Instructions / Procedures as pertaining to his/her operation function as assigned and abide by all legal (laws/by-laws) requirements / Company Policies and Practices.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • At least 3 years’ experience in a chemical/automotive/industrial environment.
    • University qualification in Occupational Health and Safety/ Safety management/ environmental management or SAMTRAC or NEBOSH required.
    • Formal qualification in ISO Systems (14001 and 45001) is advantageous.
    • Good report writing skills

    Logistics Manager

    Purpose of the role:

    • We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Logistics Manager to oversee the end-to-end logistics and supply  chain operations for our cement warehousing and bricks/blocks manufacturing business. The successful candidate  will be responsible for managing transportation (both in-house and outsourced), inventory control, warehouse  coordination, and the efficient movement of materials between multiple storage locations and production facilities.  This role is based at our Inca facility and requires strong coordination across all Cape Town sites.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Transportation Management 

    • Coordinate the movement of bulk cement from the port to warehouse locations.
    • Manage company-owned tankers and liaise with third-party transport providers for deliveries and collections.
    • Schedule and monitor the dispatch of cement and finished goods (bricks and blocks) to customers and internal  sites.
    • Ensure all transportation activities comply with safety, legal, and company standards.

    Warehouse & Inventory Coordination 

    • Oversee inventory levels at all cement storage locations and maintain accurate stock records.
    • Plan and monitor debagging and tanker loading activities at the dedicated station.
    • FIFO system is followed on all products.
    • Ensure empty pallet processes are followed and maintained.
    • Ensure pallet returns records are captured and maintained.
    • Ensure efficient storage and retrieval systems across all warehouse sites.

    Logistics Planning & Reporting 

    • Develop daily/weekly logistics plans aligned with production and sales schedules.
    • Track KPIs for delivery performance, inventory turnover, transport costs, etc.
    • Generate regular reports for management on logistics performance and suggest process improvements.

    Supplier & Transporter Liaison 

    • Negotiate terms and service levels with transporters and logistics vendors.
    • Monitor transporter performance and ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
    • Resolve any delivery or transport-related disputes or delays.

    Compliance & Risk Management 

    • Ensure all logistics operations adhere to local regulations and company policies.
    • Conduct regular risk assessments and implement controls for transport and storage safety.
    • Keep records of permits, insurance, and maintenance of the company tankers.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Proven experience (5+ years) in logistics, transport coordination, or warehouse management.
    • Knowledge of bulk cement handling and experience with tanker logistics is highly advantageous.
    • Strong understanding of inventory management and warehousing principles.
    • Excellent planning, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
    • Proficiency in logistics software, Microsoft Excel, and report generation.
    • Valid driver’s license and familiarity with Cape Town routes and regulations.
    • Ability to manage multiple sites and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management.
    • Experience in the construction materials or cement industry.

    • The transport coordinator ensures that all transport operations comply with relevant regulations, including safety and environmental regulations. They may also be responsible for ensuring that drivers and vehicles are licensed and registered correctly.

    Purpose of the role:

    • We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to support the accounting department by handling accounts payable and accounts receivable, performing bank reconciliations, assisting with month-end and year-end closing, preparing financial statements, maintaining financial records, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
