The Role

Don't be a big fish in a small pond. We can make your career happen! Our client is actively looking for a Cloud (DevOps) Engineer to join the dynamic team in Cape Town. You will be responsible for deploying applications into production with the assistance of appropriate monitoring and proactively troubleshooting any issues that arise.

To apply, you need a relevant IT Degree / Diploma OR in exceptional cases 6 years’ equivalent experience. You also need to have an AWS DevOps Professional Certification.

You need at least 1 years’ work experience as a DevOps / Cloud Engineer combined with 3-5 years’ experience in a technology-related field either as a FullStack Developer or Operations Engineer for Linux hosted applications.

You also need to have 2-3 years’ experience and/or knowledge of the following:

• Deploying and managing applications in the cloud;
• Digital application patterns;
• Application troubleshooting and root cause failure analysis;
• SDLC automation and testing using Git based repositories, code build and pipeline;
• Configure and deploy infrastructure using cloudformation, ECS and lambda;
• Login and monitor applications using cloud trial, cloud watch and application specific logging;
• Automate management of polices and standards using trusted advisor, secrets manager, and certificates manager; and,
• Implement high availability and disaster recovery using CloudFront, Route53, and RDS.

SQL Developer

They are currently looking for a SQL Developer to join their team in Cape Town. You will responsible for supporting, developing and enhancing complex ETL processes with a critical focus on accuracy and performance. You will be maintaining and developing objects in MS SQL Server Databases as well as handling queries and resolving any issues that may arise in the processing of high-volume transactional data.

To apply, you need to have a 3-year Diploma in Information Systems coupled with 5+ years’ experience with MS SQL/Transact SQL and working with high-volume transactional data.

You need to have experience developing database schemas, and creating stored procedures and other processes that utilise SSIS and other ETL.

It will be highly beneficial if you have:

• Experience or exposure with SQL server on AWS (Amazon EC2, Amazon EBS, Amazon RDS, etc);
• Experience with other relational databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc;
• C#/.Net experience; and,
• Retail or financial services (particularly financial transactions and reconciliation data) experience.
