    Field Marketing Specialist - Inland Outer

    • The Field Marketing Specialist (FMS) supports the Field Marketing Manager (FMM) in building the local face of Red Bull in their field in the most relevant way and in line with the global and national strategies and priorities.
    • They work with the FMM to build strong local networks including opinion-leaders and key influencers both online (social media) and offline. They help to create and implement marketing initiatives in Student Marketing, Sports, Culture and Communications.
    • They leverage sales opportunities and encompass local needs and specificities and therefore impact the heart of local consumers, ultimately leading to the successful development of the business.
    • The FMS is constantly out ‘in the field’ to make things happen, this is not an ‘office’ job. Depending on their profiles and the needs of the region, FMS responsibilities vary considerably.

    Regional On Premise Manager | Inland Outer

    • The Regional On Premise Manager has the overall responsibility for breaking down and implementing the national business plan in the assigned region. The ROPM is the leader of the Musketeers. As the face of the brand in the market and together with their team, optimizing sales, brand presence and awareness throughout the On Premise channel.

    The Role Model

    • Be the credible voice of On Premise for Red Bull. Ensure appropriate communication flow and knowledge transfer within the regional and national teams. Secure and optimise the teamwork with all related business units.
    • Bring the brand premium values of Red Bull to life as a role model for the entire team and the On Premise network. Constantly monitor image standards within the team.
    • Use your unique personality to showcase this premium brand and to build effective relationships with strategically important customers and industry contacts.

    The Team Leader

    • Build and maintain a strong and highly effective team. Lead and coach all direct reports in a motivational way for increased productivity and engagement.
    • Take ownership of the regional training plan. Guarantee customised trainings and coaching on a benchmark level to ensure continuous development of the team so that they stay on the cutting edge.
    • Evaluate the skill level of the On Premise team on a permanent basis and adjust plans to reach targets. Spend sufficient time in the field with the team to evaluate progress.

    The Strategic Operator

    • Take full responsibility for the development and implementation of the regional On Premise business plan tailored to meet ambitious company goals. Continuously evaluate execution by spending time in field and by setting up appropriate KPI’s.

    • Manage team to drive horizontal as well as vertical growth.

    • Together with the OPMM find and develop marketing strategies and concepts to leverage the brand and increase product consumption in the ever-changing On Premise environment.

    The Business Manager

    • Plan and continuously develop the geographical area and team structure including human resource evaluation and allocation.
    • Manage and optimise available team resources, such as budget and POS material effectively.
    • Carry out ongoing analysis of market research, KPI’s and reporting tool database with an insight into action mentality.

    EXPERIENCE
    Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
    • Minimum 2 years sales experience with a strong track record of success. Ideally 2 years of management experience (in the FMCG business is a plus). Experience in a Musketeer position preferred.
    • Strong On Premise industry knowledge and already have established contacts in the nightlife scene or HORECA, and/or you are able to make them quickly and smoothly.
    • Open, extroverted and not afraid to approach people. Inspire others with your genuine nature and contagious "can-do" attitude. 
    • Ability to think and act like an entrepreneur. 
    • Strategic and innovative commercial awareness and acumen (strong understanding of sales processes and financial systems).
    • Strong planning, prioritisation and organisational ability.
    • Highly developed analytical skills. Ability to translate data and insights from market research, sales analyses and forecasts into effective sales activation as well as compelling brand-marketing activities in response to changes in the On Premise environment.
    • Social Chameleon. Understands all groups of people, what every type of person has to deal with daily and knows how to act around them. Possesses self-awareness and is able to adapt communication, presentation and professional appearance according to audience and scene.
    • Clear understanding of markets, sales and distribution, consumer behaviour and competitor activity in FMCG context.
    • Solid presentation and communication skills such as selling, negotiating, training, coaching and active listening.
    • Self-motivated and is able to work independently in a high energy, fast-paced, field-based environment. Able and willing to work very flexible hours (including nights and weekends).

    Distribution Partner Manager | Non Liquor - Free State & Northern Cape

    • To ensure Red Bull’s sales growth and perfect store execution is achieved in the Independent Rural and Urban Trade. Goal is to increase and deepen Red Bulls footprint in this channel. Main focus is to develop a profound and proven concept for Red Bull to become the leader in Energy within Independent Rural and Urban market space. Once developed, the role is to manage its execution daily and turning strategy into action.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Analyze Data

    • Analyze geographic areas to understand outlet and sales opportunity within identified areas through trade visits
    • Use depletion data to identify opportunities in market and drive sales team to close the gaps

    Business Planning

    • Develop annual Regional Business Plan in close coordination with Head of Direct Distribution for winning in the Independent trade.
    • Target to increase and deepen Red Bulls footprint in Independent Urban & Rural channels.
    • Co-Develop Business Plans by DP to deliver on all relevant RBZA strategic initiatives including; Volume, Horizontal & Vertical Distribution, Execution and Information exchange (Depletion Data). Ensure the plan is aligned to overall RBZA plan.
    • Manage and secure sufficient POS stock and handling as well as ROI calculations on any initiatives implemented into trade.

    Sales and 3rd party Distribution Management

    • Define routines and call cycles for managing the operations in a professional / sustainable way, in line with routines matrix set out by HOD: Direct.
    • Do monthly business reviews with DP in line with business plan & Commercial Annex.
    • Define and track the DP KPIs (broken down from overall sales targets):
    • Volume Sales, Distribution Numeric & Weighted and Price Compliance, Perfect Store Execution, Promotional Execution.
    • Support DP in achieving set targets through:
    • Training the DP sales force on Red Bull perfect store standards and execution of those
    • Leading DP sales force by personal example and hand-on approach
    • Quantification of opportunity identified in data analyzing to conceptually sell new concepts to partners.
    • Undertake systematic and regular trade visits to identify gaps and opportunities or to prove any findings from data supplied by Trade Marketing. The latter being a critical part of the role.
    • Prepare and lead monthly reviews with the DP regional team
    • Generate best practices and multiply throughout covered channels.
    • Fuel DP sales force passion for Red Bull through recognition and reward programs.
    • Trade Visits
    • Undertake systematic and regular trade visits to identify gaps and opportunities or to prove any findings from data supplied by Trade Marketing. The latter being a critical part of the role.
    • Conceptual selling of the quantified opportunity in a mature and professional manner to ensure buy-in (convinced) and motivated Partners
    • Track execution via our Partners field force

    Budget Management

    • Manage the budget that is allocated to commercial initiatives, sales force initiatives, and below-the-line marketing initiatives linked to the DP and Red Bull Partnership.

    EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor’s Degree preferred 

    • Valid driving license
    • Proven Track Record of 3rd party management in FMCG sector
    • >5 years sales experience in FMCG sector.
    • Sales Team Leadership Experience
    • Successful track record in managing sales force (distribution partner preferred) within all Trade channels
    • Business Experience in Regional Accounts - Independent trade  
    • Key Account experience (an Advantage)
    • Leadership, Motivation and Team Skills.
    • Clear understanding of market, sales & distribution within South Africa
    • Clear understanding of market structure and common practice / ways of how business is done
    • Excellent negotiator and influencer (strong interpersonal skill)
    • Strong analytical ability and commercial acumen to understand financial statements and market trends
    • Able to work independently with responsibility, being organized, result driven and solution orientated
    • Able to develop business strategies and break them down into actions
    • Excellent in all MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) Excel and Power Point abilities should be strong
    • Management reporting and budget control.
    • Strong presentation skills
    • 80% of time in field and 20% of time spent on analysing, planning, building case studies and conceptual selling decks and reporting.
