    What will you do? 

    • Guided by Senior and Lead Analysts, this role will be responsible for sourcing and transforming a wide range of data across the business into formats that can be used by end users to develop differentiating business insights.

    • We are looking for an individual with experience in using a variety of data tools, analysis methods and data visualization to turn data into actionable insights with demonstrable business impact.

    • They will assist in specifying complex business rules using the specified toolsets to enable the Data Modellers to create complex analytical models. Hence, they need to understand and continuously seek to build knowledge of data and information. 

    • The person fulfilling this role will not only analyse data models, but also test the outputs, investigate & troubleshoot data issues and devise solutions in line with best practice. A high competency in problem solving capabilities is thus essential. They should be able to communicate business information to technical teams, as well as be competent in communicating challenges and solutions to the team.

    • The successful candidate will have to demonstrate flexibility across the BI team working on multiple data, digital transformation as well as analytics type of initiatives.

    • An understanding of data management solutions and a keen sense of the strategic value of information to an organisation will be of importance.

    • You will be responsible for the end-to-end tasks within the data analysis framework working with business representatives, product owners, etc. to define and elicit requirements, analyse data and create reports/dashboards.

    Main responsibilities

    Data Preparation

    • Acquire data from various data sources and combine & transform data into interpretable datasets, reports or dashboards

    • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques

    • Extend the company’s data with third party sources of information when required

    • Process, cleanse and verify the integrity of data used for analysis

    • Perform data profiling of data contained in source systems

    • Provide detailed analysis of all data implemented into the database

    • Provide the data mapping and associated transformation rules for each data item

    • Ensure that the business requirements and subsequent development activities are supported by accurate information. 

    Analysis and Visualisation

    • Interpret data, analyse results using analytical techniques and provide reports and/or dashboards

    • Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets

    • Use data to answer key questions about the business.

    • Own and maintain dashboards, ongoing reporting, and ad hoc requests from the organization.

    • Support and maintain the project data models at multiple levels of detail and functionality (conceptual, logical, normalised, relational, dimensional, application level, subject-level, integrated, etc.)

    • Assist Data Modelers to draw up detailed data models.

    Stakeholder Engagement

    • Work directly with management and other business users to gather requirements, provide status updates, and build relationships

    • Present information using data visualisation techniques

    • Facilitate requirements gathering workshops with the business

    • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to analyse information needs, functional requirements and business processes

    Coaching/Mentorship

    • Provides problem solving assistance to other team members

    What will make you successful in this role?

    • Diploma/Bachelor Degree (Information Systems; Statistics; Data or Computer Science; Engineering) or equivalent (preferred but not essential)

    • Functional experience in analytics, data visualisation or reporting

    • 5 years of experience performing data analysis

    • Knowledge of and experience with reporting packages

    • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings for stakeholder use

    • Experience working with data in various data sources and databases

    • Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical terms

    • Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases with proven SQL skills

    • Ability to comply to and manage data assets under strict governance framework

    • Experience in agile development desired

    • Business experience in financial services or financial asset management would be advantageous

    Data Scientist

    What will you do?

    We are looking for an individual with experience in using a variety of data tools, analysis methods and machine learning algorithms to build and implement predictive models with demonstrable business impact.

    What will make you successful in this role? 
    Data Preparation

    What will make you successful in this role?

    • Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or another quantitative field. Honors or Masters advantageous. 

    • 5 years of experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models 

    • Experience querying databases and using statistical computer languages when managing data: (eg. R, Python, SQL, etc.) 

    • Knowledge and experience in statistical and data mining techniques (e.g. GLM/Regression, Random Forest, Boosting, Trees, text mining, social network analysis, etc.)

    • Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques such as clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc. and their real-world advantages and drawbacks.

    • Experience with distributed data/computing tools: (eg. Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, MySQL, etc.)

    • Experience visualising/presenting data for stakeholder use and reuse across the business

Develop and implement the end-to-end governance framework and model for creating, controlling and enhancing metadata on the BI platform, manage the processes that track the life-cycle of data on the BI platform from ingestion through to consumption as well as how it changes over time (Data lineage tracking is required for master data, reference data, transactional data and metadata on the BI platform.) Develop physical data management architectures, policies and practices and oversee the execution of procedures to manage data across its lifecycle on the BI platform from acquisition to consumption.Design conceptual, logical, technical solutions and flowcharts for BI assets and Business Transformation solutions.Install and configure information systems to ensure functionality, Migrate data from legacy systems to new solutions, conducting tests, troubleshooting and integrating new elements. Coordinate with clients, data users and key stakeholders and develop and achieve various long term objectives for data architecture. Define security and backup procedures. Determine procedure to identify and collect all required data, validate process and recommend improvements to business data,Oversee and monitor all frameworks to manage data across transformation.Design and provide support to all data management methodologies according to required standards.Monitor and identify appropriate tools and systems. Administer mapping of all data sources and movement and analyse it to ensure appropriate quality of all data.Develop key metrics for tests on data and ensure integrity of same on data architecture. Prepare documents for data architecture and maintain knowledge on large data structure as well.Analyse and understand BI technology stack and entire solution, integration into enterprise architecture, business requirements and create conceptual, logical and technical solution designs.     Business Consultant: Corporate Finance (6 - 12 month Contract)

    Responsible for financial analyses or for a division providing financial accounting services for head office and/or group companies. Applies principles of accounting to analyse financial information and prepare financial reports.  Compiles and analyses financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger, documenting business transactions. Analyses financial information detailing assets, liabilities and capital. Prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position. Audits contracts, orders and vouchers and prepares reports to substantiate transactions prior to settlement. Installs, modifies, documents and coordinates implementation of accounting systems and control procedures. Makes recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets and expenditures. As Business Consultant: Mergers and Acquisitions, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting the management of transactions, financial analysis, evaluation of business opportunities and contracting with counterparties.
    Key outcomes

    The following outcomes will be expected to be achieved by the Business Consultant:

    •    Analyse the Glacier transactions and drive completion thereof including:
    o    strategic rationale, 
    o    financial impact and shareholder value creation potential, 
    o    transaction and implementation risks and funding alternatives.
    •    Assist with the coordination and liaison with business heads, financial and legal advisors, and regulatory bodies.
    •    Financial and economic analyses of proposed capital expenditure, investment, mergers and acquisitions, financial restructuring, new product introductions and operating profit plans
    •    Build detailed business plan and summarise KPI/decisions required to ensure benefit realisation
    •    Consider impact of transactions on the business and resolve internal implications and resolution thereof.  Assist with implementation considerations

    •    Continuous engagement and collaboration across all parties affected by the project, merger or acquisition. Provide general transaction support and insights across the different stakeholders
