    Tactical Compliance & Operational Training Officer - Midrand

    Minimum Requirements

    • Grade 12 or equivalent
    • Deadline driven, Able to work under pressure ,Own vehicle, Able to travel nationally , Good communicator
    • MUST have Valid Firearm competency up to Business Purposes
    • Must have National Key Point accreditation
    • Grade A PSIRA Registered
    • 2 Years Security Operational experience
    • 3 Years training experience
    • Registered PSIRA Grade A and Armed Reaction Instructor
    • MUST be a Registered SASSETA Assessor/Moderator
    • MUST be a registered Firearm Accredited Training Officer with PFTC
    • Experience as Facilitator/Assessor/Moderator

    Advantage

    • CPO qualification
    • First Aid Level 3
    • Advanced / Defensive Driving Certificate

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Course Administration

    • Participate in effective planning, scheduling and implementation of the training intervention to meet the company’s needs with focus on core skills identified;
    • Liaise with the Training Administrator in compiling training material, documentation and evaluation feedback reports;
    • Submit weekly training reports

    Facilitation:

    • Conduct and facilitate various training interventions;
    • Provide on the job and off the job coaching to employees in order to improve business performance;
    • Evaluate effectiveness of training and make the necessary changes in training material and/or training delivery methods;
    • Plan and prepare for a learning event;
    • Complete course related administration,
    • Preparing the learner for assessment and conduct formative assessment;
    • Keep of prescribed records i.e. daily attendance register etc.;

    Assessment:

    • Brief and advise learners on assessment process;
    • Orientate learners on unit standard requirements;
    • Plan assessment process;
    • Identify special needs of the learner;
    • Select and develop relevant assessment instruments;
    • Conduct the assessment and assess the competency of the learner against learning outcomes and provide proof of assessments;
    • Evaluate evidence that is submitted by learner;
    • Record assessment process and outcomes;
    • Provide feedback to learner and management;
    • Complete all and any relevant documentation, i.e. Assessment Report etc.;
    • Record learner achievements and provide input to administration staff.

    Tactical Firearm Compliance Manager - Midrand

    Minimum Requirements

    • At least 3 (three) year’s work experience in Security Industry
    • Matric/Grade 12
    • SASSETA registered Facilitator, Assessor and Moderator
    • Registered PFTC Firearms Instructor
    • Range officer Qualification
    • Armed Reaction course
    • Intervention course(Crowd Control)
    • Handgun, Shotgun & Rifle Competency up to Business Purposes
    • Must be registered PSIRA Grade A

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Setting a standard with regards to compliance, legalized use and Management of firearms of which will consist of conducting 80% compliance audits and 20% monitoring and re-evaluating firearm related policies and SOPs
    • Ensuring required legal obligations are fulfilled, focusing on the Firearms Control Act of 60 of 2000 which will include but not limited to rolling out Delegations of authority
    • Liaison with internal and external stakeholders [Firearm Handlers, Supervisors, Branch Managers, Directors, Designated responsible persons, Accredited training providers, Service Providers and SAPS]
    • Routine general information to be disseminated through supervisors and managers to relevant firearm handlers
    • Incumbent will effectively manage and control the firearms nationally.
    • Manage and regulate the regions firearms sites
    • Future deployment of firearms to any site or customer premises will be subject to a risk assessment and approval by the MD of the division
    • Implement a system to track, in real time, the location and status of all firearms
    • Administrate and manage the firearms licenses of the division
    • Manage and advice on the implementation of all firearm related policies.
    • Manage of training budget for firearm training
    • Managing the Accreditation of the Training Centre and shooting ranges
    • Liaise with the relevant SETA for the registration of Learners
    • Incumbent will be responsible for weekly, monthly and annual firearm reports to submitted to Operations Director.
    • Maintain proper, accurate and effective records of firearms
    • Ensure that firearm sites have all the relevant registers in place.
    • Responsible to physically inspect the firearms on a monthly bases.
    • Must ensure and certify that all ammunition and firearms are accounted for. 
    • Ensure that all the relevant registers are correctly completed as per SOP.
    • All firearm incidents are reported as SOP.
    • Responsible for induction training of newly appointed firearm handlers.
    • Schedule a psychometric assessment [DSI Assessment with SHL] on individuals who will be required to use firearms in the course of their duties
    • Regulate the Bi-annual firearms refresher training
    • Conduct the Regulation 21 training annually.
    • Facilitate firearm training and liaise with different training providers for training and development.
    • Schedule an annual externally facilitated audited on all internal processes in relation to firearms
