    Front of House Supervisor

    Purpose of the role:

    • Nederburg Wine Estate, part of HEINEKEN Beverages, is looking for an energetic, confident and service-driven Front of House Supervisor to help lead our guest experience team at one of South Africa’s most iconic wine destinations.
    • This role is ideal for a young professional with a background in hospitality, tourism or marketing, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to grow their leadership capability.

    Key Responsibilities:

    As a Front of House Supervisor, you will play a hands-on role in leading daily operations and people on the floor, while delivering a premium brand experience:

    • Supervising day-to-day front-of-house, tasting room and restaurant operations
    • Leading, motivating and supporting a diverse hospitality team
    • Being a visible host: welcoming guests, engaging confidently and ensuring outstanding service
    • Presenting and hosting wine tastings and group experiences
    • Supporting event set-up, execution and breakdown
    • Ensuring high standards of cleanliness, presentation, product quality and service

    Education & Experience:

    • Previous experience in a customer-facing role within hospitality, tourism, events or wine
    • Wine knowledge or a Cape Wine Academy / WSET qualification is an advantage
    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
    • Previous experience supervising shifts or acting as a senior team member is beneficial

    Working Hours & Practical Requirements

    • Hospitality hours: 45 hours per week
    • Includes weekends, public holidays and occasional after-hours
    • One guaranteed weekend off per month
    • Occasional travel may be required
    • Own reliable transport and a valid driver’s licence are essential

    Maintenance Assistant

    Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to: 

    • General maintenance work and basic plumbing, carpentry, masonry and painting.
    • General civil and maintenance work on buildings.
    • Maintain effective housekeeping and safety practices;
    • Operating according to standard operating procedures
    • Active involvement in the mini business area

    The successful candidate must preferably have the following experience / skills: 

    • Must have the knowledge and experience to use workshop tools and machinery i.e. drill press, drilling machine, bench grinder, etc.;

    Field Service Technician: Automation - Stellenbosch

    The purpose of the position:

    • The Field Service Automation Technician provides high-level specialised field support across production sites, focusing on complex fault resolution, upgrades, improvements, packaging line performance optimisation, inspection & coding systems, and adherence to Heineken Global Engineering and D&T standards.
    • This role serves as a central technical reference point and contributes to delivering safe, efficient, and high-performing production operations.

    Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

    Standards, Governance & Compliance

    • Ensure consistent application and maintenance of Heineken Global Engineering Standards, Global Automation Standards, and PCD/OT cybersecurity requirements across all sites.
    • Drive governance processes related to backup and restore procedures, automation asset management, lifecycle planning, and change control (MoC).
    • Maintain and enhance standard templates for PLC, HMI, SCADA, and network architectures, functional descriptions, and engineering documentation.
    • Perform periodic compliance audits and coordinate remediation actions with site teams.

    Execution of Automation Activities

    • Lead and execute advanced automation engineering activities, including PLC/HMI/SCADA programming, diagnostics, upgrades, and system optimisation.
    • Support OT network infrastructure troubleshooting and optimisation across technologies such as Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, and OPC UA.
    • Ensure all automation interventions follow appropriate engineering, quality, and safety procedures.
    • Provide technical guidance for instrumentation, control loops, calibration systems, and automation interfaces with MES and digital platforms.
    • Conduct packaging line audits, line balancing, throughput optimisation, inspection & coding (recipes, rejection logic). 

    Continuous Improvement (CI)

    • Analyse operational performance to identify automation-based improvement opportunities in OEE, energy efficiency, waste reduction, stability, and quality.
    • Apply systematic problem-solving methodologies (RCFA, 5 Whys) to eliminate recurring automation-related losses.
    • Support TPM initiatives and digital transformation programmes by enabling automation enhancements and data-driven decision making.

    Project Leadership & In-House Project Execution

    • Plan and lead automation and OT engineering projects in alignment with CoE PMO and governance frameworks.
    • Prepare scopes of work, evaluate technical solutions, coordinate vendor/contractor activities, and ensure adherence to standards.
    • Perform FAT, SAT, commissioning and formal handover with full documentation.
    • Execute selected automation development and upgrade projects in-house to improve efficiency and reduce reliance on external integrators.

    PCD / OT Cybersecurity

    • Implement and maintain PCD cybersecurity controls in accordance with Heineken D&T policies, including access management, network segmentation, patching, and vulnerability remediation.
    • Ensure accurate automation asset inventories and system documentation.
    • Support cross-functional security assessments and incident response activities, ensuring risks are escalated and mitigated promptly.
    • Deep Technical Problem Solving
    • Serve as the central escalation point for complex automation faults affecting production operations.
    • Lead structured troubleshooting, root cause identification, and sustainable corrective actions for automation-related breakdowns.
    • Provide remote and on-site technical support to ensure minimal downtime and operational impact.

    Stakeholder Management & Capability Development

    • Collaborate closely with Engineering Managers, Production, Quality, D&T (OT Security), and site Automation Technicians.
    • Coach and mentor site-based automation resources to uplift capability and embed standardised ways of working.
    • Deliver training on automation standards, cybersecurity practices, and engineering excellence methodologies.
    • Engage openly and transparently with stakeholders at all levels, ensuring alignment and buy-in.

    The successful candidate must have the following Skills and experience:

    • National Diploma or BTech in Electrical/Electronic or Mechatronics Engineering.
    • 5–10 years of experience in automation within a manufacturing environment (beverage, brewery, or FMCG preferred).
    • Strong technical expertise in Siemens (S7/TIA Portal).
    • Experience with industrial communication networks and OT cybersecurity practices.
    • Proven experience in Field service.
    • Willingness to Travel - Minimum 50%.

    Asset Care Engineer

    Purpose of the Position:

    • Provide focus, strategic direction and technical expertise to the Asset Care function of Heineken Beverage's manufacturing plants to ensure optimal performance efficiency of assets and ensure maintenance integrity and reliability.
    • Develop and manage asset life cycle improvement strategies for Manufacturing to optimise Heineken Beverage’s assets.

    Key Performance Area:                                

    • Implement asset care practices that are prioritised and aligned to the Manufacturing strategy and business plans within the Heineken TPM PM Pillar.
    • Analyse efficiency and reliability performance at the plant level and develop asset care improvement initiatives to address gaps in consultation with site asset care principles.
    • Deliver on all short and long-term asset care improvement initiatives and ensure optimum maintenance expenditure and stock holding.
    • Conduct regular equipment assessments to identify the effectiveness of existing asset care practices.
    • Drive engineering stock reduction and support group procurement in developing and implementing efficient engineering procurement.
    • Investigate and develop asset care processes to support manufacturing targets and sustain production capability through optimum asset life.
    • Facilitate and ensure that systems are implemented to identify asset reliability risks, and plans to mitigate them are implemented.
    • Facilitate and ensure that processes are documented with adherence to good governance practices.
    • Identify and implement evolving Asset Care technologies to improve asset reliability.
    • Develop and implement follow-up Heineken Asset Care Standards (HACS) improvement based on maintenance history.
    • Manage the integrity of the Computer-Based Maintenance Management System (SAP PM / Maximo).
    • Liaise with OEM regarding major maintenance or upgrade installations.
    • Provide expert technical consultation to the site regarding best practices for the improvement of production asset efficiency improvement.
    • Develop and manage the most effective relationships with the right stakeholders to deliver on strategic priorities
    • Coordinate biannual Asset Care forums to enable knowledge sharing between asset care stakeholders
    • Develop and implement a structure to manage engineering technical data and standards, and to facilitate knowledge sharing (i.e. intranet forums, etc.)
    • Facilitate development of new PM functionality and reports.
    • Drive improvement of the overall skill levels of asset care personnel.
    • Facilitate and ensure the asset management structures are implemented, by plant to achieve performance objectives, including stock holding.
    • Conduct gap analysis and attend coaching and up-skilling activities with managers/engineers/operators/apprentices

    The successful candidate must have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

    • Relevant Degree in Engineering
    • Minimum of 8 years relevant experience in Plant Maintenance
    • 5 years’ experience in expert fault-finding on complex manufacturing equipment and driving efficiency and reliability improvement initiatives

    Specific Company or Industry Knowledge:

    • FMCG, alcoholic beverages and soft drinks operations
    • Project management, financial analysis, simulation and consulting skills;
    • Proven leadership skills.
    •  Strong analytical abilities.
    • Excellent communication ability (presentation, reporting skills).

    Senior Demand Planner - Stellenbosch

    Purpose of the Position:

    The Senior Demand Planners’ primary purpose is to assume a “Super User” role and to support the Lead:

    • Demand Planning to ensure adherence to demand planning principles on a tactical, strategic, and operational level.
    • The individual should support an efficient and effective demand planning process supporting business initiatives and engage with relevant stakeholders to manage and shape the attainment of their supply plans.
    • The Senior Demand Planner will be responsible for developing and executing short and long-term demand plans to meet customer demand. The Senior Demand planner will be responsible for supporting the Lead in the Heineken Beverages annual budget volume planning process from a supply side.

    Key performance areas would include, but are not limited to:                                

    • To be the single point of contact/line of communication to the demand regions (between a specific Region and Group Planning) in terms of demand within planning
    • To ensure/support the demand planning lead in planning system improvements required to take demand planning to the next level.
    • To ensure that accurate master data is maintained, and system usage is optimised (single point of contact for demand master data into planning systems)
    • To build collaborative relationships with the demand regions to facilitate the sharing of information, which will lead to more accurate demand planning information and processes.
    • To ensure that an accurate demand signal exists for all BU's that will ensure the best customer service at the most cost-effective way for an agreed portfolio.
    • To perform and optimise demand planning as assigned by the demand planning lead.
    • To ensure that an up-to-date Strategic and Tactical demand plan is available for the RSA and HBI markets for an agreed portfolio.

    The successful candidate must have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

    • Degree in relevant Engineering, Supply Chain Management or Logistics disciplines.
    • 4 + years or more operational experience in supply chain, inventory management, replenishment, and production planning in the CPG beverage industry.
    • Experience with advanced planning software at Super User level.
    • Intermediate level understanding of the integration between Planning System and other corporate systems (SAP ECC/BIP, etc.)
    • Excellent MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint skills.
    • Display an advanced understanding of supply planning principles concerning efficient production, resource capacities, Master Scheduling and S&OPs, BOMs and purchasing.
    • Display an intermediate knowledge of demand planning and the impact thereof on supply plans.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
