We have the below vacancy available in our Organisation:

The H Band Specialist Core Data Services is based within Network job family. The role of the Specialist: Core Data Services is provide high level support, optimisation, dimensioning, research to internal and external clients locally and internationally.

Your responsibilities will include:

• These responsibilities include the selection and testing of new Network Core Equipment for current and future technologies including Packet data core, LTE, Wifi, Fixed line and converged networks
• Detailed network architecture strategy, design, planning and implementation of Vodacom’s Core Packet Switching, including products for Packet data core, LTE, Wifi, Fixed line and converged networks
• Detailed network architecture design, planning and implementation of Telco over Cloud infrastructure
• Detailed network architecture design, planning and implementation of VIM/Hypervisor layer
• Research, manage, scoping, specification, testing and roll out of new packet based products services and equipment.
• Co-ordinate and execute, acceptance testing and manage roll out of new Core Packet Switching software within the Switching environment.
• Provide High level support to internal and external customers
• Development of tools to assist within the planning and optimisation of the Core Packet Switching network.
• Interface with and communicate technical concepts in a clear manner-to internal, external customers and suppliers
• Maintain Relationships with the respective vendors and divisions.
• Evaluate system architecture and recommend system improvements to other engineering departments and suppliers.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• Matric (Essential)
• A 3 year degree/diploma in Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical or equivalent qualification. (Essential)
• Minimum 3 Years’ experience in a combined Networking and telecommunications environment, inclusive of the following (Essential)
• A minimum 1-2 years’ experience in Core Networks Elements – Essential
• At least 2 years proven working experience of Internet Protocol (IP) - Essential
• Working knowledge of SGSN, EPC, PCRF and partial CDN systems principles and protocols desirable
• Research, evaluation, acceptance testing and implementation of new vendors in a telecommunication environment desirable
• Minimum 1-2 years’ experience of GSM, GPRS/UMTS/LTE principles and protocols (Essential).
• A good knowledge and understanding of the NFV/SDN/IoT will be an added advantage
• Video and CDN knowledge will be an added advantage

The base location for this role is Vodacom Midrand

The H Band Client Liaison Officer role is based within Finance. The purpose of the role is to receive and analyse escalated queries to determine the nature and extent of the query and to provide/ develop a solution to resolve the identified query and provide feedback.

Your responsibilities will include, but won’t be limited to the below:

• To provide support to the relevant role players
• To conduct investigations and recommend action plans for future reference
• To compile reports with an analysis of all queries received
• To maintain relationships with relevant role players in accordance with dependencies
• To provide feedback and recommendations to management / role players of identified trends
• To ensure continuous follow up in order for relationships to be maintained
• To identify possible improvements to be facilitated in accordance with the outcomes of the queries
• To execute the outputs in accordance with strategic targets

In addition to the details listed above, the ideal candidate will have an in depth knowledge and understanding of the following:

• GSM Network
• Knowledge of Vodacom Products and Services
• Knowledge of Vodacom Policies and procedures
• Working knowledge of Subscriber Collections systems
• Knowledge of competitor offerings

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

Job Experience:

• 2 years Call Centre exp essential inclusive of 1 year dealing with escalated queries
• 6 months E-mail Contact Centre experience desirable

Must have the following qualifications:

Matric (essential)
